94 RCSCC Warspite Welcome to the home of Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Warspite in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.

Since 1941, RCSCC WARSPITE has provided the youth (age 12-18) of Waterloo Region with a NO COST, INCLUSIVE, and EXCITING training program that fosters leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and nautical training.

🎖️ HMCS CONESTOGA PARADE – SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17

RCSCC Warspite will be participating in the HMCS Conestoga Parade in Cambridge this Saturday!

This important annual naval parade commemorates HMCS Conestoga, the historic role of women in the Naval Reserve, and its special connection to Waterloo Region.

We encourage ALL WARSPITE CADETS to attend and represent our Corps, including our newest cadets who have not yet received their uniforms!

Parents and families are welcome and encouraged to stay and watch the parade and ceremony! The parade will conclude at Queens Square and the ceremony will be there.

⚓ IMPORTANT – HMCS CONESTOGA PARADE
Our next major event is the HMCS Conestoga Parade in Cambridge on Saturday, October 17.

All Warspite cadets, regardless of whether they have been issued a uniform yet, should attend this important parade.

The parade commemorates HMCS Conestoga, the historic role of women in the Naval Reserve, and its special connection to Waterloo Region.

🎵 The HMCS STAR & HMCS YORK Naval Reserve Bands will also be joining us for a special performance!

This is an important annual Naval parade and a great opportunity for Warspite to be well represented.

📋 Cadets received the event information on their October handout, and full details are also available on our website.

🚗 DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
All cadets must be dropped off and picked up in the parking lot between the Legion and The Ship OR the Conestoga Lot next door - Cadets may use the stairs - WHEN SAFE TO DO SO, to come to the ship.
Cadets are not authorized to walk off the property, cross the street, or up the ramp without an es**rt or prior approval.

RCSCC Warspite will be participating in the 2026 Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Parade!

We encourage ALL CADETS to come out and represent Warspite at one of the largest community events of the year! This is a great opportunity to show our community what Sea Cadets is all about.

🚻 Washroom Access: There is very limited washroom access at the parade starting area. Please ensure cadets use the washroom before arriving.

🧥 Weather: This is an outdoor parade. Cadets should dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to march. Cadets wearing civilian attire - wear dark colours.

⚓ New Cadets: All cadets are welcome to participate, including those who have not yet received their uniforms!

⚓ CNS TRAINING – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4 ⚓

THIS IS ONLY FOR CADETS WHO REGISTERED - THE REGISTRATION LIST IS ON OUR WEBSITE.

Cadets attending CNS training this Sunday, October 4 should review the following information carefully.

🕡 DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
• Arrive at The Ship for 0645h (6:45 AM)
• Bus departs at 0700h (7:00 AM) sharp
• Pick-up will be at The Ship at approximately 1715h (5:15 PM)

📋 PERMISSION FORM & HEALTH CARD
A parent/guardian must come inside at drop-off to sign a permission form before their cadet can depart.
Cadets must also have their health card with them.
Cadets will not be permitted to board the bus without a signed permission form and their health card.

👕DRESS
• Cadets – Civilian attire
• Staff Cadets – C5
• Officers – NECU

Cadets wearing civilian attire must dress appropriately for the weather that day. Please check the forecast before leaving and ensure cadets have suitable layers, footwear and rain protection if required.

🌊 ON-WATER TRAINING
Cadets in Phase 3 and Phase 4, and potentially Phase 2, may be participating in activities on the water.
Cadets will not be going in the water, but those participating in on-water activities need to dress appropriately for the conditions. It can feel cooler on the water, so please plan clothing accordingly.

🥪 MEALS
Lunch will be provided.

🎒 PERSONAL ITEMS
Cadets should not bring expensive items, electronics or other valuables. There is limited storage available during the activity, and belongings may be exposed to changing weather conditions.
RCSCC Warspite and the activity are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal items.
💵 Cadets will not need money for this activity.

🧡 NATIONAL DAY FOR TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION 🧡

Last night, members of RCSCC Warspite wore orange shirts to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Today, we honour residential school survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the lasting impacts on Indigenous families and communities.

RCSCC Warspite, as part of Cadets Canada, recognizes that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility, grounded in listening, learning, and mutual respect.

We acknowledge that we parade on land traditionally cared for by the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Chonnonton Peoples.

Every Child Matters; today and every day.

🧡 ORANGE SHIRT DAY
In recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, all cadets and staff are authorized to wear an orange T-shirt instead of their standard black T-shirt underneath their C5 uniform on September 29.

Cadets who are not yet in uniform and will be attending in civilian attire may also wear an orange shirt.

This is an opportunity to show our respect, support, and commitment to reconciliation.

❗ You do not need to purchase an orange shirt. Participation is completely optional. If you do not have one, you do not need to buy one. Cadets in uniform may simply wear their regular black T-shirt, and cadets in civilian attire may wear their regular appropriate civilian clothing.
