🚨🦠 Dangerous bacterial infection hits highest level in Canada in over a decade 🇨🇦

Cases of invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) are rising across the country, with more than 150 cases reported in 2025 — the highest in over 10 years.

⚠️ This rare but serious infection can lead to:
🧠 Meningitis (brain inflammation)
🩸 Blood infections (sepsis)
⚡ Rapid health deterioration
💔 Long-term disabilities or even death

👶 Young children and teens are among the most at risk
📈 Cases have been increasing steadily since the pandemic
