📣 86% of our goal has been reached!
Two weeks ago, we shared information about our $45,000 fundraising campaign to pave 1.3 km of the Old Highway Trail past Kapasiwin. We’re pleased to share that due to strong community support, 86% of our goal has been reached for a total of $38,553 raised to date. That leaves only $6,447 to go!
Generations of Waskesiu families have walked and biked this historic stretch of road. Today, it’s a favourite trail, but after years of use, the pavement is cracked and deteriorating.
Now we have a chance to pave the way forward.
And there’s a big opportunity: paving equipment is already coming to Waskesiu for another project, which means we can get this work done for significantly less if we raise the funds by September 30.
Donate by September 30th to ensure we can jump on this opportunity and leverage paving equipment that will already be in Waskesiu. Help us spruce up the Old Highway Trail past Kapasiwin to provide better accessibility, improve safety and the visitor experience, and extend the trail’s useful life.
