I have a project that has been ongoing for over 20 years to help kids in need in Simcoe County. I give gifts for all the special occasions to kids in need, such as I give to 5 women's shelters, CAS, CAC, Orillia Native Women's Group, St. Vincent de Paul, Living for Jesus, Salvation Army food banks in several cities, area schools, Barrie and Orillia Food Banks and also to anyone knowing kids that would need gifts for Christmas, Easter etc.
I am looking for donations to help me out. My husband retired this year and our funds are not as they were. Last year I was able to help over 2000 children and as well women in the shelters and their kids.
I am looking for donations of toys, stocking stuffers, crayons, pencil crayons new and used, markers, activity books, colouring books, toiletries, gift bags, games, craft kits, puzzles, new t shirts, and anything a kid or woman would enjoy that will fit into gift bags.
Just at Christmas I was able to give stockings and gifts to over 1,100! It is a huge undertaking and I work on it all year round. I live in Washago and can always use help sorting, doing up goody bags and whatever I am working on throughout the year to pull it all off.
If anyone has things to donate or time to give I would just love to have the help.
I also wrote a children's keepsake/journal workbook that I had printed and this book goes out to cancer clinics for kids, hospitals and also shelters. For this project I need help with people to sew book bags.
As well I am looking for people to sew stockings. I filled over 800 stockings with toys and goodies and these are what went to all the Food Banks.
I will be doing it all again at Easter and at Valentines as well as Mother's Day.
If anyone at all wishes to contribute any help it is sooooo welcomed! The items need to be new and only toys in new contition are accepted. I need things for all ages from baby to 18 yrs.
Books can be used as long as they look new.
