🚨For Immediate Release 🚨
Effective October 31, 2026 the Government of Saskatchewan’s CWD Surveillance Program and publicly funded CWD testing for harvested animals will end. Samples from mandatory zones (WMZ 43, 47, 49, 50, 53, and 55-69) submitted on or before October 31, 2026 will continue to be processed and tested. Self-serve kiosks and drop-off locations, such as the bin located in the Saskatoon Wildlife Federation parking lot, will remain available until that date. Samples will not be accepted after October 31, 2026.
The Ministry will continue to accept reports of sick or suspect animals and provide advice on carcass handling.
