At WAMBO, we asked you to try both waters and tell us **which one you liked best**.
💚 **GREEN= Wallaceburg Tap Water – 56 votes**
💙 **BLUE = WaterHut filtered — 47 votes**
🤷 **Undecided — 7 votes

💚 Tap water was the favourite.

🫐 What a Blueberry Social!

What a fun, busy, curiosity filled afternoon at the Sombra Museum!

Between 1:00 and 3:00, about 25 people stopped by the Watch Citizen Science booth, and the energy never let up.

🎡 The trivia wheel kept things lively with spins, laughs, and plenty of nature knowledge being tested.

🔬 And the clear favourite was Daphnia. The live demonstrations with Scott Lee had people leaning in for a closer look at these tiny freshwater creatures and the hidden world they reveal.

And here is the exciting part… this was just a taste of what is coming at WAMBO this year.

Discovery. Curiosity. Citizen science.

🌊 Citizen Science in Action Wallaceburg District Secondary School 🌊

A big thank you to our volunteer Andy Schmidmeyer for helping with water quality testing during a Grade 11 Chemistry class at WDSS on May 25

As part of this citizen science activity, students collected and analyzed water samples from the St. Clair River, testing for:

💧 Dissolved Oxygen
💧 pH
💧 Nitrates
💧 Turbidity

Using their results, each group calculated a Water Quality Index (WQI), providing a snapshot of local river health. Activities like this give students valuable hands-on experience while contributing to a greater understanding of our watershed.

Citizen science empowers community members to participate in environmental monitoring, helping to build awareness, stewardship, and a stronger connection to the natural world.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and volunteers who continue to support environmental education and watershed stewardship in our community.
