Honouring Our Elders and Celebrating Community

Last month, the Home and Community Care Program, in partnership with the WIFN community, proudly marked Elder Abuse Prevention Day.

This powerful event brought together advocates, families, students, and community members in a united stand for dignity and respect for our Elders.

Chi-miigwech to everyone who participated, supported, and shared in this vital cause. Your presence demonstrated a strong and ongoing commitment to awareness—because everyone deserves to age with dignity and respect.

We also proudly joined in the BCC Indigenous Day Parade, a joyful celebration of unity, culture, and connection. These moments remind us of the strength and beauty found in community.

Prevent Elder Abuse – Together, We Make a Difference

Elder abuse can take many forms—physical, emotional, financial, or neglect—and it affects some of the most vulnerable members of our communities.

Our mission is clear:
To raise awareness, provide meaningful support, and empower individuals to take action.

Through education, community engagement, and accessible resources, we are building a safer, more respectful world for our Elders—one where every person is valued, protected, and honoured.

Let’s continue this important work—together.
