Wakefield Food Pantry… Good news -- It has finally warmed up enough to open the Community Fridge so it is waiting. Our motto is give what you can and take what you need. The community fridge is situated at the Anglican Church in Wakefield (the one with the red steeple) at #693 Riverside Dr. It has been a busy winter. We want to thank this community for their continuing support and generosity. We thank you!!

Tax receipts for all 2025 donations were sent by the Church of the Good Shepherd by e-mail on February 28th. Some people had them go to their spam folder. If you did not receive yours, please check your junk mail or reach out to [email protected] to have it re-sent. Thank you for your support!

(If they didn't have an e-mail address for you, it was sent by Canada Post at the same time.)

The Wakefield Community Fridge will be closing in the next day or so as temperatures drop and things begin to freeze.
A huge thank-you to our entire community for making this season such a success. We moved an incredible amount of food through that fridge this summer! From commercial farmers to backyard growers, the abundance of vegetables—and everything in between—was truly amazing. Nothing stayed on the shelves for long.
We should all feel proud of what we accomplished together.
A special thank-you to the Church of the Good Shepherd (aka Church with the red steeple)” for generously providing the space to make this project possible.

A huge thank you to the students and staff of Wakefield Elementary School from all of us at the Wakefield Community Food Pantry for your amazing food drive last week!
We are so grateful for your hard work - when the donations were delivered, they filled almost half of our basement! Your efforts will make a real difference for families in our community. Thank you to all who donated.
Thank you for organizing such a successful drive and for being such an important part of the Wakefield community. Also additional thanks goes to our local Pathfinder group who sorted, checked dates and put all the food away for us. They have the ability the make the job fun. It is so nice to be surrounded by such a good community. Thank you all

As another market season comes to a close, the Wakefield Food Pantry would like to thank the Marché Wakefield Market for its continued support over the years. From hosting strawberry socials as fundraisers to the weekly donations of fresh, local produce, your contributions have been important in keeping our community healthy and well-fed. The bonus is what a great group of people to work with.
A special thank you goes out to Jon and Randi from Ferme Pleine Lune, Neil Woods from Woods Farm, and Charlotte and Richard from Lève Les Tôt for their ongoing generosity and support. Thank you.
