COMMUNITY SAFETY UPDATE: LOCKDOWN LIFTED

One Arrow First Nation is advising community members that the community lockdown has now been lifted. However, we are asking everyone to continue taking extra precautions throughout the day.

BJ Matchap is currently in custody. However, following last night’s incident, the individuals who were reported travelling on a side-by-side have not yet been located.

We ask community members to remain aware of their surroundings. If you see any suspicious vehicles, individuals, or activity, please do not approach or confront anyone. Contact the RCMP and provide any information you can safely observe.

If you have information regarding last night’s incident or the individuals involved, please share it directly with the RCMP. Call 310-RCMP (7267). Even information that may seem small could be helpful to their investigation.

Keeping our community safe takes all of us working together. When something is happening, please report what you see and provide accurate information to the RCMP. By working together, we can help protect our children, youth, Elders, families, and the entire community.

Please continue to be cautious, look out for one another, and report suspicious activity to the RCMP. In an emergency, call 911.

URGENT COMMUNITY SAFETY NOTICE: LOCKDOWN

One Arrow First Nation is asking all community members to go into lockdown immediately due to an incident involving a fi***rm in the community.

We are currently awaiting further information from the RCMP. Until more details are available, we are asking everyone to take the following precautions:
Stay inside your home and lock all doors and windows.
Keep your children and grandchildren indoors and close to you.

Please do not drive around the community unless absolutely necessary.

Cooperate fully with the RCMP and follow any directions they provide.

If you see any suspicious individuals, vehicles, or activity, do not approach or confront anyone. Contact the RCMP immediately.

We continue to ask our community to work together and provide the RCMP with any information that may assist them in locating the individuals known as Shakobey Sanderson and BJ Matchap. If you have information about their whereabouts, please report it directly to the RCMP rather than attempting to locate them yourself.

The safety of our children, Elders, families, and entire community is our priority. Please take this notice seriously, remain indoors, and check on family members by phone or text.

Further updates will be shared as information becomes available.

Please stay safe and look out for one another.
