The Canadian Army came to Batoche, Fish Creek, and areas after the Metis who had been settled in the areas for years wrote letters and petitions to the government. Any land claims, or settlements negotiated by any person or organization will be subject to the approval of this group of direct descendants of the 1885 Resistance.
