Wainwright Cross-Country Ski Rentals Are Now Available! 🎿

Looking to get outside this winter? The Wainwright Ski Club now has cross-country ski rentals available for the public!

We’ve added brand new Rossignol skis, Swix poles, and Nordic boots, making it easy for anyone to come out and enjoy the trails.

Rental packages include skis, boots, and poles for just $15.

We need to address an ongoing issue with people walking dogs on the ski trails.

Please do not walk on the groomed cross-country ski trails.

The trails are being damaged daily, and it’s extremely unfortunate that the only place in town dedicated to cross-country skiing is being impacted by a small select group of individuals.

The Town of Wainwright has over 15 km of walking trails, numerous parks, and a designated off-leash dog park available for use. There are plenty of great options for walking your dog without affecting the ski trails.

We work hard to maintain these trails for our ski community, school groups, and families who use them all winter long. We respectfully ask everyone to help protect this space so it can be enjoyed by all.

Ski trails have been groomed!

Please access the trails from the Golf Course parking lot.

After the warm stretch in late January and early February, conditions aren’t perfect, but the recent snow allowed us to get the groomer back out. The trail is a bit rough at the start with a few bare patches, but 90% of it is in good condition.

The clubhouse is open daily at 10:00am, swing in after your ski for a warm drink and a visit.

Finally! We’ve officially received some more snow 🙌❄️

Our trails will be packed and groomed over the coming days as we get everything set up again.

Good news! We were able to get the skate trails groomed today.

Some fallen trees from the recent wind slowed us down, so we ran out of time before setting the classic tracks.

Classic trails will be set tomorrow (Tuesday) evening.

Thanks for your patience, and enjoy the fresh skate lanes in the meantime!

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to share a few updates with the Wainwright Ski community!

Saturday, January 10th

Youth Learn to Ski (Ages 6–10)
3:00pm – 4:30pm
Please sign up by emailing us with your child’s age and shoe size to reserve skis.

Evening Ski
Join us for an evening group ski at 7:00pm, or feel free to head out earlier and enjoy the trails at your own pace.

FREE coffee and hot chocolate will be available in the clubhouse, and this is a free event, everyone is welcome!

We’ve also launched Instagram and pages where we’ll be sharing trail conditions, upcoming events, and updates. Be sure to follow Wainwright Ski Club on both platforms so you don’t miss anything.

We’re happy to share that adult ski rentals have been ordered. We’ve connected with the supplier and they should be arriving next week. We’ve received dozens of requests, so we’re excited to be able to offer rentals as soon as they arrive.

We’ve also had several people reach out asking how they can support the cost of maintaining the ski trails, which is amazing and very much appreciated. We’ve attached more information on trail support, but donations of any amount are welcome. If you prefer to e-transfer, you can do so to [email protected].

Thank you all for the incredible support! It’s been awesome to see how quickly this has grown. We’re looking forward to a great season ahead and hope to see you out on the trails soon!
