This is what the Wainwright community is all about!

At this year’s gala, OJ’s Leisure & Marine generously donated this GIO Element Mobility Scooter. It was then purchased by Al’s Hotshot & Trucking, who chose to donate it right back to the community to support someone in need.

Today, through careful consideration , we are honoured to share that Ms. Anita Coates was selected as the recipient through community nominations.

Moments like this remind us what Wainwright stands for: kindness, generosity, and neighbours showing up for one another. When local businesses, organizations, and community members come together, lives are truly impacted in meaningful ways.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and for continuing to make Wainwright such a caring and compassionate community. 🧡

Nothing brings people together like good food, great music, and an amazing community ☀️🍔

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our AHS Staff BBQ and helped make it such a fun afternoon! Special thanks to all of our incredible supporters and volunteers who setup and served.

A huge thank you to Reliance Energy Services for delivering the amazing BBQ we cooked on! 🌭🔥

Thank you to Shonna Elliott from Sweet Soundz DJ Service for the great music and fun vibes all afternoon 🎶

And thank you to the Wainwright Motor Club for supplying the generator to power Shonna’s set up. Big shoutout as well to Gayle Goebel and hospital maintenance staff for all their help with set up and take down — we couldn’t have done it without you!

WOW!! Wainwright you showed up ! Wainwright purchased a whopping $10,025.98 worth of Smile Cookies this year! 🍪💗

A huge thank you to Tim Hortons Wainwright for donating 100% of the proceeds to the Wainwright & District Community Health Foundation. Your support, generosity, and community spirit continue to make a huge impact on our local health care.

Thank you to everyone who bought a cookie, shared our campaign, and supported this incredible initiative. Cookies really do create change!

Update : Applications Closed!

At this year’s 30th Anniversary Gala, OJ’s Leisure & Marine graciously donated a 2026 Gio Element Mobility Scooter as a live auction item. The scooter was then purchased by Al’s Hotshot & Trucking Services Ltd., who incredibly chose to donate it back to the community for someone in need to use.

The Wainwright & District Community Health Foundation is now looking for someone who would greatly benefit from this mobility scooter in their daily life. Please contact us if you know someone in need.

Happy Nurses Week!!!

Congratulations to the recent Bachelor of Nursing graduates from the Wainwright Rural Program! 🎓👏

The Wainwright & District Community Health Foundation is proud to celebrate your hard work, dedication, and commitment to rural healthcare. We had the pleasure of funding the graduate celebration and recognizing such an incredible group of future nurses.

Wishing each of you continued success as you begin this exciting new chapter — our community is lucky to have you!

The Town of Wainwright was pleased to attend the local celebration recognizing the Rural Nursing Graduating Class of 2026 yesterday. This marks the second year of graduates from this rural program.

Councillor Josh Copeland joined Reeve Mike Wildeboer of the Municipal District of Wainwright No. 61 and Sherri Pfisterer of the Wainwright and District Community Health Foundation along with representatives from Alberta Health Services , and the University of Calgary, to extend congratulations and greetings to the students and their families and friends.

We are excited about the future of healthcare in our region and were proud to celebrate this significant achievement with this year’s graduating class!

“A Starry Night” Gala was truly unforgettable, raising an outstanding $190,000 for patient lifts at the Wainwright Health Centre. Every sponsorship, donation, auction bid, volunteer hour, and ticket purchased helped make this possible.

Please take a moment to read over the names of those who made this evening possible. Each and every one of you played a part in creating something truly meaningful for our community. Your generosity will directly impact patient comfort, dignity, and care for years to come.
