✨ A STARRY NIGHT TO REMEMBER ✨

What a night. What a community. ❤️

Our 30th Anniversary Gala was such a special evening, but more than anything, it was a beautiful reminder of just how incredible our community is and what we can accomplish when we all come together toward a common goal.

This year, our goal was to raise funds for patient lifts at the Wainwright Health Centre, helping bring important equipment right here to our community and making a difference for patients and healthcare staff.

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped make this night possible. To our generous donors and sponsors, our incredible volunteers, board members, auction supporters, speakers, and everyone who came out to celebrate with us, we are so incredibly grateful. Every contribution, every helping hand, and every person who showed up helped make this evening what it was.

We’re so excited to finally share some of these memories with you!

Supporting Our Emergency Department ❤️

The Wainwright & District Community Health Foundation is proud to support the Wainwright Health Centre with the purchase of an SpCO monitor for the Emergency Department.

This important piece of equipment helps healthcare professionals quickly assess patients for elevated carbon monoxide levels, supporting timely diagnosis without having to draw blood.

For the Wainwright ER, the value is that they can quickly screen a patient for possible CO exposure right at the bedside, rather than having that possibility go unnoticed.

🌾 The Rural Capacity Investment Fund (RCIF) has launched the Casual Recognition Incentive to acknowledge the vital role that casual nurses represented by United Nurses of Alberta play in rural health care.

Casual employees who do not hold a regular, part-time, full-time or Benefit-Eligible Casual Employee position with one of the participating signatory employers and work at an eligible rural site are entitled to a lump-sum recognition payment based on the hours worked between April 1, 2026 and April 1, 2027.

A minimum of 100 hours is required to be eligible. Only hours worked as a UNA-represented employee at eligible rural and remote worksites count toward your total.

This is what the Wainwright community is all about!

At this year’s gala, OJ’s Leisure & Marine generously donated this GIO Element Mobility Scooter. It was then purchased by Al’s Hotshot & Trucking, who chose to donate it right back to the community to support someone in need.

Today, after careful consideration , we are honoured to share that Ms. Anita Coates was selected as the recipient through community nominations.

Moments like this remind us what Wainwright stands for: kindness, generosity, and neighbours showing up for one another. When local businesses, organizations, and community members come together, lives are truly impacted in meaningful ways.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible and for continuing to make Wainwright such a caring and compassionate community. 🧡

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our AHS Staff BBQ and helped make it such a fun afternoon! Special thanks to all of our incredible supporters and volunteers who setup and served.

A huge thank you to Reliance Energy Services for delivering the amazing BBQ we cooked on! 🌭🔥

Thank you to Shonna Elliott from Sweet Soundz DJ Service for the great music and fun vibes all afternoon 🎶

And thank you to the Wainwright Motor Club for supplying the generator to power Shonna’s set up. Big shoutout as well to Gayle Goebel and hospital maintenance staff for all their help with set up and take down — we couldn’t have done it without you!
