Last week, we had a fantastic 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale. We would once again like to take the opportunity to thank all our generous Buyers - we are grateful for your continued support of our 4H Members. It was a great day filled with support from all around Vulcan County and beyond.

It's a beautiful day at the Vulcan Ag Grounds, and as things are about to get underway for our 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale, we would like to once again recognize our buyers from last season's auction. Take a look at the list, folks - these are the local farms, businesses and community members who keep 4-H thriving in Vulcan County.

Jerry, Jeffrey and Fernando Blatz were given the exciting opportunity to raise sheep with the Lomond 4H Club. This is their first year in 4H, and all three boys are very appreciative of everyone who helped them get into the 4H program. They are proud of how well their animals have turned out, as this is their first time raising and taking care of animals.

Come out to the show and see all the 4H members who have worked hard all season to get ready for the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale.

Garnet Greene is just beginning his 4H journey, and he is excited for the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale. This is Garnet's first year, and so far his favorite part of 4H has been helping out in the community. 4-H is a great way for young people to learn the value of their community and agricultural heritage.

The Vulcan 4-H District is a group of local 4H clubs including Champion 4H Multi-Club, Arrowwood 4H Beef Club and Lomond 4H Club. The District helps connect clubs within the County and assists Leaders in organizing activities such as communications competitions, judging events and the Achievement Day Show & Sale. The Vulcan County 4-H District is located in the Alberta South Region.

These volunteers allow new members just like Garnet to learn and grow alongside their 4H Projects, their Club and their community!

Here is Griffin Gateman's steer, Taco! Griffin has been in the Arrowwood 4H Beef Club for two years, and has been very successful in the Communications competition (Public Speaking). The mandatory Communications Project in 4H is a great way to build confidence in presenting to groups, which helps with future school presentations and prepares youth for interviews and careers.

4H Clubs need the support of their communities to thrive. Join us at our annual Achievement Day event, the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale. Stop in and see what these dedicated young members have been working on. Showing starts at 10:30am on Monday, May 25th and carries on through the afternoon.

Introducing Grayson Honess and his steer, Dale. Grayson has been a member of the Lomond Beef Club for six years, and enjoys the farming life and learning all about the cattle industry. Long-time members like Grayson are very helpful to younger members at the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale.

It's the final weekend before the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale , and I can guarantee that Peyton Phillips has been busy working with her steer, Po.

🧼Getting ready involves much more than simply bringing an animal to the ring — members like Peyton are busy washing, clipping, brushing, training hair and helping animals look their best.

🍀They also have been teaching their steers how to lead, stand properly and behave in a safe manner while in the showring. The busy show environment can be a pretty new experience for some of the steers, so members usually try to expose them to additional noise and human interaction before the show.

☀️The showing competition starts at 10:30am and runs through the morning and afternoon. Pop in and check out what these young 4H members have been busy with all season!

🍔It should be a beautiful day, and there is a fantastic food truck on site. A perfect rural community lunch break!

Here we have Vaughan Emelson, who is in his first year of 4H with the Lomond Beef Club. Vaughan likes walking out to feed his steer, Dodger, and will be proud to show him off at the 2026 Vulcan 4H District Show & Sale. There's a lot to learn in the first year of 4H!

We invite everyone to come down and join us -- it's fun to watch and be part of the excitement of a live auction! Vaughan and all the other 4H members appreciate your support, and hope to see you there at the community supper at 5PM followed by the beef and pheasant auction at 6:30pm.

Here we have Taya Cockwill and her steer, Mr. Ketchup. Taya is a member of the Arrowwood 4H Beef Club.

Each club in 4-H Alberta is involved in several community service events. It is a member requirement designed to help youth learn citizenship, leadership, and giving back to their communities.

This year, the Arrowwood 4H Beef Club assisted with seasonal maintenance at the Vulcan Hospital garden, helping prepare the space for winter. The Club also volunteered at the United Church Turkey Supper by cleaning up, collecting and washing dishes and ensuring everything was put away.

Community service helps members understand the people and organizations that make communities stronger.
