Due to unforeseen circumstances, Friday night chase the ace and meat draw is cancelled and the Legion is closed.

People were raving on how tasty the fish was and believe it or not on the cole slaw, baked spuds, and the special bean dish. Dessert was an ice-cream cookie ... two types. This all happened on Sunday, May 24th from four to six thirty. Lots of volunteers make easy work. Many thanks to Hank and Ryan for the use of their grills in the backlane. Special thanks to Ryan and Brian for knowing how to cook the pickerel. Oh! So, so tasty. Many thanks to the crowd that attended. Our newspaper was there taking photos and getting information for a story for this week's newspaper. The hall was filled with fish eaters. Lots of visiting done, too, at this event ... as in community event ... put on by the 100th Anniversary Celebrations Committee for Branch #8 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Virden, Manitoba.

Thanks to these volunteers who did all kinds of jobs to make this Legion Community Event a successful venture ... Comrades Herb, Frankie, Joan, Jim, Kevin, Hank, Ryan, Brian, Wendy, The Nugents, and Kel. They made the event (Fish Fry) a great example of Legion Members working together with cooperation and comradeship.

If I lived in Virden I'd be going to the Virden Legion Hall for their Fish Fry for only $20 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm ... come early...
