You Gon' Learn Today!
This is more than a workshop. This is the beginning of a movement we have created where community members can learn, create, connect, and grow together.
Over the coming months, Jayzwayz Productions & Archer's Community Hub will be rolling out a variety of affordable and accessible courses focused on music, arts, culture, entrepreneurship, and creative development. From Graffiti Art and Hip Hop Writing to DJ Lessons, Videography, Audio Engineering, Music Production, and much more, we're building programs designed by the community, for the community.
To kick things off, we're excited to welcome renowned Canadian artist and educator Emotionz (Dave Nelson) for a special introductory workshop series exploring four core elements of Hip Hop culture:
🎤 The Art of Rap
Learn freestyle, songwriting, flow, performance techniques, and the foundations of Hip Hop culture.
🎨 Intro to Graffiti
Discover lettering, tag creation, style development, and the history behind one of the world's most influential art movements.
🎙️ Beatbox 101
Create beats using only your voice while learning rhythm, timing, and vocal creativity.
⭐ Artist Development
Learn practical strategies for building your brand, growing as an independent artist, networking, and accessing creative opportunities.
Emotionz currently teaches at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music and has spent years performing, recording, touring, creating graffiti art, DJing, beatboxing, and mentoring youth across Canada and beyond. His workshops are interactive, inspiring, and designed to build confidence while introducing participants to authentic Hip Hop culture.
This kickoff event is an invitation to the community to step into our space meet new people, learn new skills, discover your creativity, and help shape the future of programming in our space.
As part of the kickoff weekend, we're also excited to host Emotionz's official album release celebration during Friday Night Freestyles the evening before the workshop launch. Join us for a night of live music, Hip Hop culture, community, and creativity as we celebrate the release of new music, connect with local artists, and set the stage for a full day of learning, inspiration, and artistic growth at Archer's Community Hub.
Learn.
Create.
Connect.
Grow.
This is just the beginning.
Stay tuned as we continue launching new courses, workshops, and community-driven programming throughout the year.
