This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the kindness that brings our communities together—and mindful of those whose service and sacrifice we will never forget, especially those who gave their all.

If giving is part of your Thanksgiving tradition, food or monetary donations to any Canadian Veterans Services Society branch are a thoughtful way to support Veterans, first responders and their families.

A little shared kindness can mean groceries on a table and the comfort of knowing someone cares.

Good Morning one and all. There was a window where veterans were not provided a Veteran's card. Some were given a CF One card. There is also a large number of Veterans that did not have a service number as for quite some time they used their SIN or Regimental #.
That said, if anyone needs help getting a Veteran's card, here is the website:

Our Victoria Veterans Food Bank shelves and coolers need a little help! ❤️

We are currently seeking donations of non-perishable foods, fresh dairy products, gluten-free options, baking supplies, household essentials and basic health-care items.

Every donation helps us provide veterans and their families with the items they need while preserving their dignity and freedom of choice.

WHY DO WE WEAR RED ON FRIDAYS?

R.E.D. stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.

Each Friday, Canadians wear red to honour the members of our Canadian Armed Forces who are serving away from home. It is a simple gesture carrying a powerful message: they are seen, they are remembered and their service and sacrifices are deeply appreciated.

We also recognize the families waiting at home—the spouses, children, parents and loved ones who carry their own worries and make sacrifices alongside those deployed.

Wearing red reminds our serving members that distance does not mean they have been forgotten. It brings communities together in gratitude, respect and solidarity.

Today, and every Friday, we wear red and proudly say:

We see you. We remember you. We stand beside you.
