☕ Pop-Up Conversations with the Greater Victoria Public Library at the sxʷeŋxʷəŋ təŋəxʷ James Bay Branch

Connection starts with one conversation.

Looking to meet new people, share stories, and enjoy a relaxed conversation in a welcoming space?

Join Let’s Talk Live and the Greater Victoria Public Library for two special Pop-Up Conversation events at the sxʷeŋxʷəŋ təŋəxʷ James Bay Branch!

These free, drop-in gatherings are an opportunity to sit down with people you might not otherwise meet, share stories, exchange ideas, and maybe even make a new friend. Come on your own or bring a friend, there is no need to know anyone beforehand.

We’ll have conversation prompts at the table to help get things started, but where the conversation goes is entirely up to you. No speeches, no networking, and no pressure. Just real people, real conversation, and a chance to connect.

💚 A little reflection from last weekend...

We're looking forward to another week of conversations and connections, and we hope to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones!

Last weekend at Murchie's, our founder Jennie took a moment to reflect on one of the things she loves most about Let's Talk:

“One of the things I like best about the Let's Talk events is that the people are from such a wide variety of backgrounds. We've had everything from a trapeze artist to a nuclear physicist, psychologist to financiers.

And the questions on the Let's Talk cards ensure that the depths of the conversation stay interesting, deep and personal.

One of my favorite questions is:

If you won a billion-dollar lottery — after you do the travel thing — where would you want to live, and what would you want to do with your life and time?

Without exception, every single person has said they want to give back with their life and time, which is encouraging.”

We love that, too. You never quite know who you'll meet or where a conversation might take you. 💚

“I’d like to thank you for that marvelous project called Let’s Talk. For us foreigners, who are sometimes alone and need some company, it is priceless. Besides that, it helps me a lot with my English studies. I’ve been able to practice my listening and speaking skills with wonderful people. Thank you, and I’ll see you soon.”
