The rescue evacuation days are long. 14-18 hours. The weather can be very hot or very stormy. The war is brutal and very dangerous. The thing that makes it all worth it, is how many animals and people we get to help. We do not care about one’s political views or opinions, or media bias, we care about the animals and humanity. That is it. 💙💛🐾

DRUZHKIVKA. This is what animal evacuations look like now.

We evacuated animals together with Jesse and Nate from the Canadian organization .

During this trip, we managed to evacuate 33 animals from the Donetsk region.

Twenty-seven of them were transferred into the care of partner organizations or reunited with their families.

Bruno the cat, whom was very sick, and we lured out with food, is currently receiving treatment at our ARK clinic.

The remaining animals are now recovering at our rehabilitation center and are eagerly waiting for their forever homes.

В цій поїздці з Донеччини вдалося евакуювати 33 тварин.
27 із них ми передали під опіку інших організацій і рідних власників.
Котик Бруно, якого ми приманювали кормом, проходить лікування в нашій клініці ARK.

Решта тварин зараз відновлюються у нашому реабілітаційному центрі ті дуже чекають на свій дім.

Adopted! Yaay Rosie!

Happy Tail - Thought I'd send a Rosie update after adopting her and having her as a part of our family for the last 6.5 months. She is now 10 months old and 100lbs of gentle love. Rosie loves all the adventures from hiking, being at the beach, swimming, playing with her doggy friends of all sizes, going paddle boarding, going on new adventures, and snuggling with the family and the cat. Yup, she goes on the paddle board with me. She is so chill when young children are around or someone with a disability. We could not imagine life without her and we are forever great for you rescuing her and us adopting her from RainCoast.

Jesse Adams

This is Oleksandra from Druzhkivka picking up her dog Bim in Kharkiv after the evacuation.

Oleksandra reached out to us at ARK for help evacuating Bimka and her cat Chita, because during the urgent evacuation she was not allowed to take the animals with her.

We rescued the animals together with Jesse and Nate from the Canadian organization . During those few days, Bimka and Chita were cared for in Druzhkivka by a friend of their owner.

After the evacuation, there were only a few hours left before they would finally reunite with their “mom” ❤️

Oleksandra says: “He got lost in 2014, most likely when people were evacuating. He came to me dirty, with matted fur and covered in fleas. I treated him, groomed him, and that’s how he stayed with me.”

Since then, Bimka has been living with Oleksandra. Later, Chita became part of the family too.

After the evacuation, Oleksandra took Bimka and Chita to Kyiv. They are adapting quickly thanks to being surrounded by family and a much calmer environment.

This is exactly how Life defeats war!

It’s been an honour working with Порятунок тварин Харків / Animal rescue Kharkiv, Ukraine on the frontlines of Eastern Ukraine to rescue animals and help people 💙💛🐾 Jesse Adams

DRUZHKIVKA. Right now, animal evacuations are happening literally “under enemy fire.”

Because of the growing number of drones, there are almost no cars left on the roads. Every moving vehicle becomes a target for the enemy.
Just before us, a drone struck a vehicle carrying soldiers. Thankfully, everyone survived 🙏🏻

Right now, we are evacuating animals together with Canada! 🇨🇦🇺🇦

Canadians Jess and Nate from RainCoast Dog Rescue specially came to Kharkiv to help rescue animals. Together with our rescuer Ruslan and the ARK team, they are now working every day in the combat zone.

During just two trips together with Jess and Nate, we managed to evacuate 58 animals from the Donetsk region.

31 animals were reunited with their families or transferred to volunteers for further care.

27 animals are now recovering with us at ARK in safety and very good conditions, while waiting for loving families of their own.

We have so much amazing rescue content from our recent volunteer rescue missions that we want to share with everyone. Our team has just been so busy each day doing 12-18 hour animal rescue missions along the frontlines of the war in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, that we have not had much time to share much of anything. It has just been rescuing and getting any little sleep we can before the next days mission. For now, I just wanted to show you some of the amazing 30+ animals we rescued today with Animal Rescue Kharkiv.

This was just one of our many objectives with on this mission to help animals and people in a very long 15 hour animal rescue day along the frontlines of Eastern Ukraine in the Donbas region. This was a very dangerous area that was being constantly attacked by drones, mortars, and artillery fire. The surrounding buildings have been badly damaged or completely destroyed, with no running water or power, and shockingly there are still people living here because they have no where else to go, or they do not want to leave their home. For some it’s the only place they have ever known. We completely respect that, and we are here to help if they want it, but we cannot force anyone to leave if they do not want to leave. We pray for their safety and well being. God bless and protect them all.

We realize how dangerous this is, but we still need to do this very important work to help make a difference. Animals do not understand war. Help us help them.

RainCoast is officially back in Ukraine!

We are currently here in Eastern Ukraine with the utmost dedication and compassion to help suffering animals along the frontlines and that are affected by the war. Most of the animals are badly injured, sick, lost and scared, starving, or their families have been forced to flee out of their homes, in occupied territories, or killed; and their animals are trapped and all alone in a very dangerous place and need someone to desperately come rescue them. Even after 4+ years of a horrible war inflicted upon Ukrainian animals, it is sadly only getting worse.

We will also be supporting spaying and neutering, vaccinations, parasite treatments, emergency surgeries and medical care, and lots of food for the animals. Most of these animals are dogs and cats, but we will not turn any animal away in desperate need of life saving rescue efforts along the frontlines of the war and war affected areas.

As a part of this important and crucial work we are doing here, we are also proudly teaming up and working with our amazing friends at Animal Rescue Kharkiv. They are an incredibly dedicated and hard working team that gets calls to their hotline everyday about animals in desperate need of rescuing, along the frontlines of the war, and war affected areas. They put their lives on the line to do the rescuing that most do not want to do because of these incredible dangers of war, but they know someone has to do it.

They also run shelters that are currently with 1000+ dogs and 300+ cats with a veterinary clinic, and over 90% of them are from the frontlines of the war, and war affected areas. Some are waiting to be reunited with their families, and others are adopted out with individual people and families from around Europe and North America, and with other reputable rescues. They take the utmost professional and ethical steps to ensure all animals are quarantined when they come in, treated for any medical conditions, tested for disease, temperament tested, vaccinated, parasite treatments, spayed or neutered, safely and humanely placed in shared kennel areas or personal kennels, and very very loved and cared for each and every day! They rescue about 6000 animals a year since 2022 when the full scale invasion and war began in Ukraine. You can check them out on their page, Instagram, and website. Rest In Peace, Ginger ♥️🐶🥺😣

They are never with us long enough. Ginger was such a beautiful dog, that had an amazing family that loved her so very much. We will always be so grateful for them and the incredible life they gave her. She was with them for almost 10 years after being adopted from RainCoast.
