Firefighters Park is getting a fresh start. 🚒🌳

The District of Oak Bay will be rebuilding Firefighters Park, creating a new space for kids, families and our community.

And every time you purchase a raffle ticket, you help expand the possibilities.

Funds raised through the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation will support the park renewal, helping us build on what’s will be planned and create even more opportunities for play, connection and memorable moments for families.

Last week, the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation was proud to present $9,000 in bursaries to graduating students through the Ken Gill Memorial Scholarship and our Pillars of Excellence Bursaries.

Representing Oak Bay were members of the Charitable Foundation, our on-duty crew, and members of the Gill family, who joined us in recognizing this year’s outstanding recipients.

These awards celebrate students who have demonstrated leadership, service, resilience, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients. We wish you every success as you take the next step in your journey.

We've been made aware that members of our community have received phone calls from individuals claiming to be raising money on behalf of the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation in conjunction with the Burn Fund and the Royal Jubilee Hospital.

We want to make it clear that these calls are not associated with our organization.

The Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation does not conduct telephone fundraising campaigns and will never call members of the public to ask for donations.

If you receive one of these calls, please do not provide any personal or financial information. If possible, make note of the phone number and let us know.

Boots were on the ground this weekend as members of the Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Foundation volunteered across multiple community events.

Crews spent time canvassing throughout Oak Bay for the Annual Muscular Dystrophy Boot Drive, continuing a long-standing tradition of supporting Muscular Dystrophy Canada and the families impacted by neuromuscular disorders.

At the same time, another team was out at CFB Esquimalt supporting Hoopfest, hosted by , helping promote adaptive sport, inclusion, and community connection through sport.

A huge thank you to all the members, volunteers, organizers, and residents who stopped to donate, support, and spend time with us throughout the weekend. Community support is what makes these events possible.

From family swim & skate events, to high school bursaries, youth sports clubs, and support for neonatal care, every ticket purchased, event attended, and dollar donated helped make a real impact right here at home.
