Do you still need winter tires if you have a 4WD or AWD vehicle? 🚗

AWD and 4WD can help you get moving on slippery roads, but they don’t help you stop or turn.

Winter tires are designed for cold-weather conditions, with rubber compounds and tread patterns that provide better traction and handling on snowy, icy, and cold pavement.

This colourful new playground surface isn't just for good looks!

Made using the recycled rubber from 4,400 used car tires, the new playground surface at Sherwood Park Elementary School in North Vancouver is now more accessible, with features specifically designed to encourage participation by children with varying mobility and physical abilities.

North Vancouver has a beautiful new playground! Have you seen it yet?

Sherwood Park Elementary School's playground has had a major facelift, made possible by the TSBC Community Grant Program. 4,400 recycled car tires were used to create this durable playground surface, making it possible for everyone of all abilities to play together safely.

A successful first day at Coast Waste Management Association (CWMA)'s Annual Conference!

The TSBC team has had a productive day of meetings with fellow stewards and the ministry, and it's been great connecting with colleagues and sharing ideas from across the waste management sector.

What can 4,404 recycled tires become in BC?

A new inclusive playground at Sherwood Park Elementary School in North Vancouver is now complete, giving students and the community a safer, more accessible place to play, explore and connect.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our recent Prince George tire collection event, over 2,000 old tires were collected and are now on their way to Liberty Tire Recycling's recycling facility in Delta, BC, where they'll be processed and recycled.

Did you know? When you have your tires changed, you can leave your old tires with the retailer and we'll take care of the rest through BC's tire recycling program.

🛞 Some retailers accept tires without a purchase or service. Have tires waiting around at home? Find a nearby free tire drop-off location at tsbc.ca/recycle-your-tires/
