That’s right, recycle your bike tires and tubes BC! ♻️

This Bike to Work Week, remember that when the time comes, bicycle tires and tubes are recyclable through BC's tire stewardship program, Tire Stewardship BC!

Many bike retailers province-wide particpate in this free drop-off program, and your tires and tubes can find new life as crumb rubber for items like the rubber mats used in farms, playground surfaces, arenas, and gym flooring, and landscaping mulch.

This artist turns discarded tires into p***c art! ♻

At the 10th Annual Tire Recycling Foundation Conference in Denver earlier this month, we were amazed by the powerful tire sculptures of artist Chakaia Booker.

Her work turns old tires into bold, abstract sculptures that change how we see recycled materials. Exhibited worldwide and held in over 40 public collections, her art is a standout example of how sustainability and creativity can collide. See more here: https://chakaiabooker.com/

1,121 old car tires were recycled into this new playground surface!

The new playground at Delbrook Lands Neighbourhood Park is the most expansive play space in the District of North Vancouver. The recycled rubber surfacing was made possible through funding from the TSBC Community Grant Program (2023), turning 1,121 BC tires into a safer, more accessible space for everyone to enjoy.
