The Investment Agriculture Foundation of BC was established in 1996 as an industry-led, not-for-profit organization. We represent a significant component of the agriculture and agri-food community, from farm supply to primary production to post-farm gate and food processing. Our focus is to work with clients, industry and funding partners and invest in projects that have the potential to transform ideas into solutions.

BC Food & Beverage recently shared an update on their work related to the proposed Pacific Gateway Food Terminal, a roughly 750,000-square-foot food distribution, processing and innovation hub on an approx. 50-acre site in Metro Vancouver.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to strengthen BC’s food system and become a bigger part of Canada's food distribution infrastructure.

As they explore the need and viability of such a significant distribution infrastructure investment, they want to hear from the businesses it could potentially serve. We're asking that you please complete their Needs Assessment Survey as they build a proposal to make this a reality.

Food Security Initiative projects are already making an impact across BC by improving resilience, productivity, and preparedness for producers and processors facing drought, flooding, and market disruptions.

As of March 31, 2026:
• 614 projects approved
• 1 in 40 BC farms have received FSI funding
• 20 agricultural subsectors have benefitted from FSI investments

🐓 Big things are happening at Marsden Meadow Farm!

Thanks to support from the Food Safety Program (FSP), the farm's expanded poultry processing facility now includes a fully equipped cut-up and packaging room, helping provide safe, value-added processing services for poultry producers across the Comox Valley.
