When: Afternoon of Wednesday, May 27th
Limited spots are available for a volunteer appreciation luncheon prepared by Chef Hubertus Surm.

Nature Trust is inviting Saturna Island community members to join their crew for an annual effort to remove invasive Daphne laureola (aka spurge laurel) from conservancy lands on Mount Fisher.
* We will meet with Nature Trust staff at 11:30 am for a short talk to learn the why & how of invasive plant removal and native habitat restoration.
* After we charge up our energy with delicious food, we will head out onto the mountain by 12:30 pm with our loppers and pruning saws.
* We will do a sweep through previously cleared areas to pull any new daphne seedlings, then remove larger plants on the north slope.
* We will finish our work by around 3:00 pm.
Wear long pants, a long-sleeved shirt, gloves, and sturdy footwear. For those who need them, loppers, pruning saws, gloves, and masks will be available to borrow, with thanks to the Saturna Island Parks & Recreation Commission.
