Goldstream Toastmasters Club

The Goldstream Toastmasters Club meets on Zoom every Monday September to June and bi-weekly in July and August. We do not meet on Statutory holidays. On the last Monday of each month from Sept to May we have a hybrid meeting-on Zoom and in person at the Westhills arena boardroom. The times are 7 pm to 9 pm.
You are welcome to attend as a guest for free until you decide to join the club.

On March 30 2026 at our hybrid meeting, 8 members attended in person and 7 guests!!! What a surprise to have so many guests attend at once.
We welcomed: Pink, Eddie, Travis, Cameron, Frazer, Mac and Sheila. Three guests said they would join. One said he would likely join in May.
Guests can attend for free until they decide to join. Participation in Table Topics is offered but is optional for guests.

The Goldstream Club won a grand prize worth $150!

101 Anniversary Challenge Results:
 Toastmasters Clubs Shine Across the District

What an extraordinary journey these past weeks have been. THANK YOU to every club, Area, and Division that embraced this celebration with passion, unity, and creativity.

📊 *Final Results*

• 67 clubs registered — representing 41% of all clubs in District 21

• Clubs from all 9 Divisions — 100% district-wide participation

• Representing 34 Areas out of 42 — an impressive 81% reach

• 62 clubs submitted their reports — a remarkable 92.54% completion rate

During the challenge period:

• 645 members attended club events

• 342 guests visited clubs

• 196 speeches were delivered

• Out of the 342 guests, 203 became new members

➡️ That’s an outstanding 59.43% conversion rate!

Your involvement made this celebration vibrant, impactful, and truly worthy of Toastmasters’ 101 years of empowering leaders worldwide.

We had a fabulous Speechathon meeting. Three members presented their Ice Breaker speeches.
Plus our guest is joining.
Refreshments included Bill’s smoked salmon and my mini muffins.

On Monday October 27 the Club will host a Speechathon. Almost every member will present a speech and for some it will be their first “Toastmasters” speech. We will have a quick round table evaluation after each speech. If we have time, one or two members will be able to repeat their speeches.
After all of the speeches are done, we will have a Closing Ceremony.
The main purpose is to give all of our members an opportunity to present a speech, just start doing speeches. Not perfection- just doing.
Supporting new speakers is why many of us continue to be members. I joined in 2008.
Goldstream has many experienced, supportive, talented members. I am very proud of my club!

Fran, Peter Scott and I attended the Disrict 21 Annual Conference. It was Fran’s first conference- there were 60 first timers.
Peter Scott presented his AI presentation to a maximum capacity audience.
I volunteered and worked for 3 hours on the registration table. I met lots of members and connected with a few.
The silent auction table was well stocked and active with lots of bidding. Fran won her bid. I lost mine
Conference committee members spend almost a year putting it together. It is an excellent leadership opportunity.
The event was held at the Mary Winspear center in Sidney. Next year it will likely be in the lower mainland.
