Healing Hearts Foundation's mission is to provide support and resources to local families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss. Through advocacy and community building, our goal is to help families feel less isolated, and give them a safe place to talk about the deep emotions they are experiencing without fear of judgement. Wherever you are in your loss journey, and no matter the type of loss you have experienced, you are welcome here.

Join us on October 25th, 10am-Noon, to carve white pumpkins.

We will meet at 3960 Quadra Street. Please come around to the back of the building, up the accessibility ramp and in the doors at the top. If for some reason the door is locked, please message instagram and we'll let you in.

White pumpkins are traditionally carved and placed on doorsteps as a symbol of their lost child. Registration is required but only so we buy enough white pumpkins. The link to register is in our instagram bio and on our website. The QR code is also placed in this post.

Please wear comfy clothing and bring your favourite carving tool.

This is a child-free Peer to Peer Gathering.

Join us on October 25th, 10am-Noon, to carve white pumpkins.

We're starting a new program! Meet our new Peer to Peer Gatherings.

Once a month, loss families are invited to join loss parents from our board for a small gathering of shared grief and community. While the dates won't change, the times we meet might depending on the activity and location. Specific locations, times and registration forms (if needed) will be released a month prior so you can plan but please save the dates!

Things to know:

- accessibility is important to us so please reach out with any concerns.
- registration will only be required if we need to know how many supplies to purchase or a location requires a head count in advance.
- we will alternate between child-free and children welcome events. We recognize some of our loss parents will find it hard to be around parents who have living children and that children also grieve their lost siblings so we're holding space for everyone.
- all our events are free to loss families and are created with community in mind.

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

This year our Wave of Light gathering will take place at the Parliament Buildings in Victoria, BC at 7pm. We invite you to join us around 6:30pm. At 6:45pm there will be a brief ceremony where the names of the children we have lost will be read out loud. At 7pm we will join the Wave of Light and light our candles, placing them on the front steps of the Legislature.

You are welcome to bring with you a photo or memento to place next to your candle, but don't forget to bring it home with you. Treats and beverages will be served after the candle lighting.

Children and extended family members are welcome at this event.

If you can't attend, but would like your baby's name read, please don't hesitate to send us an email or reach out through instagram. We would be honoured to light a candle in their memory for you.

The Parliament Building Lights will be lit up purple on October 14th and purple and blue on October 15th as Canada also celebrates Disability Employment Awareness Month in October.

Join us September 27th at 10am for our first Peer to Peer Gathering at Beaver Lake for loss families.

Children are welcome and we will meet just beside the main Beaver Lake parking lot on the path in front of the nature centre (see map). The distance and pace will be decided in the moment by everyone. There is no need to complete the entire 10km route which takes approximately 2 hours. Please let us know if you have any concerns!

We recommend bringing comfy runners, strollers that can navigate a trail (if needed) and water.

No registration is required. We look forward to seeing you there!
