Currently, on unceded Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ territories, UVSP focuses on building a healthier future through developing, supporting and engaging in action that:

In order to create tangible results and visible change on sustainability issues, we will aim to develop inclusive processes to engage the campus community, but
also to situate our campus in the broader context of the surrounding community. We hope to create a space of learning where people can be challenged to seek out and address the root causes environmental degradation. In exploring the relationships between ourselves, the surrounding lands, plants, and animals, we intend to foster better relationships, and healthier communities. We will also aim to act as a resource to facilitate other projects and initiatives. We will also aim to have fun and remain reflexive, responsive, and inspirational! We support students to take initatiative on sustainable campus and community projects, and encourage them to apply for our UVSP Grants. UVSP recognizes sustainability does not inherently focus on promoting “green lifestyles and initiatives”, but on working to repair the currently destructive imbalance between the economy, the environment, and society by focusing on building a healthier, regenerative future. We believe that sustainability should be autonomously defined by communities around the world, in how they identify what this balance looks like for their people within the lands they inhabit.
