📣MEMORIAL SITE UPGRADE NOTICE 📣

Our memorial site has stood proud for over 20 years. With financial help from businesses and residents alike over the past year, our members decided to upgrade the walkway leading to and around the memorial to solid concrete. This improvement provides better mobility and ensures the site is fully accessible for everyone to enjoy.

This project was a true community effort. We extend our sincere gratitude to:

➡️ Avalon Ready Mix
➡️ LBG Services Ltd (for the use of a mini backhoe)
➡️ Gerald Clarke (for assisting with the concrete pour)
➡️ Hennessey’s Excavating (for the use of a laser level)
➡️ Town of Victoria, NL (for the use of a plate tamper and Class A stone)
➡️ Our Dedicated Members who put in 315 volunteer work hours under the hot summer sun to get this job done!

🗓️ Wreath Laying Service
Join us this coming Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM for our annual service. The event is open to all members of the public and fellow First Responders. We hope to see you there!

🚒Annual NFPA pump testing 🚒

Yesterday while Captain Quinn was at DQ making sweet treats in support of the Janeway. Our two pumpers received their annual pump tests!

What is a pump test?

A pump test is a series of tests to ensure the fire pump on the apparatus is able to operate as it should at its maximum rated capacity over a timed duration. After a hiccup with Pumper 242 that found two leaky valves (that were replaced). We are proud to say that our apparatus functioned as rated by the manufacturer ☑️.

This type of test ensures that these apparatus are ready for the next emergency. In our business preventative maintenance, inspections and attention to detail is everything!

Special thanks to Norman Fire Equipment along with our dedicated staff for getting these tests completed.
