Community Notice – Fire Department Training
Residents are advised that our crews will be conducting various training exercises this evening. We may be utilizing various fire hydrants throughout the community as part of the training.
As a result, some residents may notice temporary discoloration of their water. If this occurs, simply run your cold water tap until the water clears. Residents in higher-elevation areas of town may also experience reduced water pressure during this time.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we carry out this important training.

longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. For

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Reginald Careen with Lifewise NL for taking the time to visit our hall and share information about their new offerings and the ongoing importance of mental health support for first responders.

These new initiatives represent a positive step forward in ensuring that those who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving our communities have access to the support and resources they need.

Mental health matters, and it is essential that the general public, municipalities, and first responders recognize the impact that traumatic experiences can have on those who serve. We must continue to break down the stigma surrounding PTSD and mental health challenges, creating an environment where asking for help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.

Open conversations, early intervention, and strong support systems can make a real difference. First responders, their families, friends, and colleagues all play an important role in recognizing when someone may be struggling and encouraging them to seek support.

No one should have to face the mental health challenges of this profession alone. By continuing these conversations and supporting initiatives that prioritize mental wellness, we can help build stronger, healthier, and more resilient first responder communities.

Another successful Fire Prevention Event at Persalvic Elementary!

It was wonderful seeing all the kids and sharing some important fire safety information with them.

A big thank you to the North Shore & Salmon Cove–Perry’s Cove Volunteer Fire Departments for joining us and helping make the event such a great success.
