The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) commends the Government of Canada for their commitment to and continued support of COPSIN, as announced by the Honourable Adam van Koeverden, Secretary of State for Sport, today in Winnipeg.

The Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba (CSCM) welcomed Secretary van Koeverden on Thursday, where he announced announced more than $17 million in funding for the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) in 2026-27, which includes an additional $5.4 million this year.

This investment will enhance the support athletes receive, giving them greater access to physiology, nutrition, mental performance, sport medicine and expert coaching.

“The Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network welcomes Sport Canada’s new investment. This funding recognizes the important role our institutes play in Canada’s sport system and strengthens our ability to work with National Sport Organizations, the COC, the CPC and other partners. We look forward to putting these resources to work in ways that deliver clear results for athletes, coaches and the communities we serve.”

Taking one for the team! 🏃‍♀️

Our Sport Science team at the Vancouver Lab was hard at work today for Cart-to-Cart Calibration Day!

To ensure our metabolic testing devices deliver consistent, accurate baseline data for high-performance athletes, our team regularly performs cross-validation and calibration across all testing systems.

Led by our physiologist Gayatri Raghavan and special thanks to Mary Claire (MC) our resident “guinea pig” on the treadmill today!

Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, CSI Pacific joins the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network in honouring residential school Survivors, remembering the children who never returned home, and recognizing the lasting impacts on Indigenous families and communities.

We wear orange to affirm that Every Child Matters and to recognize that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. We remain committed to listening, learning and taking meaningful action to build respectful and lasting relationships with Indigenous communities.

🧡 Today and every day, we encourage everyone to reflect, learn and take action toward reconciliation.

Great to see CSI Pacific’s Vanessa Zoras sharing her expertise at the 2026 Science & Cycling Symposium in Bromont, Quebec.

Vanessa presented to an international audience of cycling researchers and practitioners, bringing her experience in high-performance nutrition to the conversation. As a CSI Pacific staff member, Vanessa also works with NSN Cycling as their Lead Nutritionist, supporting athletes with evidence-informed nutrition strategies for performance.

A great opportunity to connect sport science and applied practice within the cycling community.

Last Friday, CSI Pacific had the opportunity to connect with ISPARC in Vancouver to share more about who we are, what we do, and how we work alongside athletes and coaches across British Columbia.

It was a valuable opportunity to learn from one another, build connections, and discuss how we can work together to support the next generation of Indigenous athletes across the province.

We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation and building a strong relationship moving forward.

Our scientists, as part of our team, are excited to work with Volleyball Canada on the upcoming Development Camp this November at the Richmond Olympic Oval

It will be an incredible camp for experienced and novice players interested in the game, with lots of experts there to work with the athletes.
