5th Garry Oak Scouts section has space.

Does your youth aged 11-14 (grade 6-9) love the outdoors? Does your kid want to camp and hike, fish and kayak?

Our scouts group is co-ed, we welcome all genders and abilities. Our youth learn leadership, first aid, fire starting, and axe/knife skills. We volunteer in the community and are always excited to add a new skill to our repertoire.

Bottle drive is tomorrow, Saturday, Jan 3rd 2026.

Important Reminder that LOCATION HAS CHANGED - Carnarvon park parking lot, 2801 Henderson Road.

Change is due to concerns raised by city and fire hall over the re-design of Firefighter's Park parking lot and lack of space for vehicle movement.

5th Garry Oak's annual Bottle Drive is taking place this January 3rd from 9am to 3pm. Your donations turn into incredible youth adventures for kids aged 5-26.

Due to complications at Firefighter's Park parking lot, we will be at Carnarvon Park, 2801 Henderson Road.

We also pick up! If you have lots of bags, call 778-817-1339 and we'll organize a time to come by, or print off the note below and attach to a bag curbside on Jan 3 for our incredible Beavers and Cubs to pick up.

I know what you are craving; a delicious crunchy apple! You are in luck as it is that time of year once again when you will find scouts on your local street corner begging you to take an apple.

5th Garry Oak Scouts will be giving away apples on Oak Bay Ave in front of the Oak Bay Home Hardware and Oak Bay Pharmasave Oct 4th from 9-3. Come say hello.

We have geraniums, marigolds, herbs, veggies, roses, hanging baskets, etc. Delivery is May 7,8, just in time for Mother's Day.

Spring is trying its best to arrive in our fair city and with it comes the flowers! 5th Garry Oak is running our first plant sale through Growing Smiles, please help us grow adventure in our community.

- Last day to order is April 16
- Plant pick up is May 7 and 8, just in time for Mother's Day
- On offer are veg and herb starters, hanging baskets, roses, marigolds, etc.
- If you know a youth in the program, include their name in the 'I would like to support:' and help them win a super soaker that is, of course, intended to help with watering

Bottle Drive: Reminder to save the date, Scouts community, 4th of January at the Scout Hall on Monterey (Oak Bay Fire Hall 🚒)!

That said, please spread the word, for folks who want to clear out those empties sooner, they can head over to the Oak Bay Recreation parking lot, right beside the tennis bubble, and drop off bottles anytime—it's accessible 24/7, 365 days a year!
