As a groundbreaking journalist, author, feminist, and co-founder of Ms. magazine, Gloria spent over five decades on the front lines of social change. From organizing grassroots movements to advocating for reproductive freedom and safety, her relentless dedication earned her the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

At Victoria Women's Transition House Society, we recognize that the safety and community we build for survivors every day are rooted in the foundation that trailblazers like Gloria fought to establish. Dolly showed generations of women that strength can be compassionate, ambition can be generous, and success can be used to create opportunity for others. Through her music, philanthropy, advocacy for literacy, and unwavering commitment to helping people build brighter futures, she reminded us that one voice can inspire millions.

Victoria Women’s Transition House Society is hosting our Annual General Meeting, and we are pleased to welcome Chief Constable Fiona Wilson of the Victoria Police Department as our guest speaker.

As an organization supporting women, children, and families affected by violence and abuse, we value the opportunity to continue important conversations about intimate partner violence and community safety. Chief Wilson’s leadership and perspective bring meaningful insight to this work, and we’re grateful to have her join us.

We look forward to sharing highlights from the past year, connecting with our community, and reflecting on the progress still to come. Oh, and don’t forget the delicious light refreshments! 🥐☕

A huge thank you to Dannica (pictured left) and Sophie for their incredible bottle drive supporting Victoria Women's Transition House Society!

These two inspiring young women raised $163, and Dannica dropped off their donation at our office this week to VWTHS staff member Heidi (pictured right). Their fundraiser is part of "A Million Acts of Love" - a beautiful initiative dedicated to spreading kindness, supporting those in need, and building stronger, more compassionate communities.

Every act of love, no matter the size, creates real change. Dannica and Sophie, thank you for thinking of us, and for making a difference for women and children in our community.

Join us for "Healing Through the Arts", a FREE art therapy group in a welcoming, trauma-informed space!

This free group is for women aged 45+ who have experienced intimate partner violence. We welcome cisgender, transgender and nonbinary people within the women's community.
