Canadian Gene Cure Foundation

Canadian Gene Cure Foundation The Canadian Gene Cure Foundation (CGCF) supports excellence in the research of human inherited diseases.

Our four key programs are designed to build a sustainable, cooperative research community in Canada.

• We provide high school students with an amazing hands-on opportunity to discover the world of genetic research in some of the top labs in the country GRFAW.

• We encourage and enable university students to pursue both an MD and a PhD degree in the field of genetics through our Scriver MD/PhD

Studentships. Physicians who understand research and researchers who manage patients play a valuable role in the pursuit of cures and treatments for disease.

• CGCF directly funds genetic research through its research grant program. To continue with our mandate to grow the genetics community, we will be introducing a new research grant opportunity in 2011 for post doctoral researchers. This initiative will provide a much needed increase in manpower on important research projects and opportunity for mentorship for Canada’s next generation of scientists.

• We also support opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of information within the human genetics community through the Annual Canadian Human Genetics Conference
