FIRST Robotics BC is pleased to announce that Michelle Kitchen has been named Executive Director to lead the organization into a new growth phase.
Michelle is an accomplished strategic and operational leader with experience in leading mission-driven non-profit organizations. Prior, she held the role of CEO of the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, a non-profit with a mission to inspire and educate youth and the community at large into physical literacy and sport. As the ambassador and spokesperson of the Hall, she led new growth strategies, partnership development, fundraising and donor strategies, corporate profile and community engagement.
A key achievement was the province-wide expansion of the “Hero in You” educational program, alongside the launch of the world’s first fully immersive digital Indigenous Sport Gallery—advancing Truth and Reconciliation and expanding access to underserved and equity-seeking communities.
Michelle also previously served non-profit Dress for Success Vancouver, where she led a transformative brand repositioning that significantly increased revenue and funding to further the mission to help women and gender-diverse individuals realize their highest potential and achieve economic independence. With an extensive background in Marketing, Michelle was at the helm of multiple global and national marketing agencies servicing private and public organizations and overseeing high performing cross-functional teams.
Throughout her career she built and scaled brands in highly competitive categories, including AirMiles, BCIT, BELL, Destination Canada, ING Direct, Netflix, Nordstrom, McDonald’s, Nabisco, Rocky Mountaineer, TELUS, UBC and Volkswagen to name a few.
