Eagle Eye: Robson Bight Warden Program and Straitwatch North

Eagle Eye: Robson Bight Warden Program and Straitwatch North The Robson Bight Warden Program and Straitwatch North comprise the northern components of Cetus Research and Conservation Society.

The Warden Program is based on West Cracroft Island and has a monitoring station known as Eagle Eye atop a cliff which overlooks the Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve in Johnstone Strait. The Wardens are responsible for educating boaters on the marine reserve boundaries so that it remains a protected sanctuary in which marine life can thrive. Both the Wardens and Straitwatch North, ba

sed out of Alert Bay, BC, educate boaters on the Be Whale Wise Guidelines. These guidelines serve to minimize vessel distrubances on marine mammals. Cetus society's northern programs also have outreach projects dedicated to educating local residents and visitors on conservation, cultural heritage, and marine biology.
