Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition

Vancouver Island Human Rights Coalition We strive to offer anti-oppressive services through direct human rights advocacy, research, and referrals for people who have experienced discrimination.

Our primary focus is assisting people who wish to file a Human Rights Complaint with the BC Human Rights Tribunal. http://www.bchrt.bc.ca/
We assist people in understanding how the BC Human Rights Tribunal works and in crafting their initial applications to the Tribunal. Although we do not provide legal representation, we can help connect complainants with other resources and provide unrepresented

complainants with support and guidance as their complaints advance through the Tribunal process. There is a time limit for filing a complaint, so it is important for people who have been discriminated against to act quickly.

This International Women’s Day, we honour and celebrate the women who reshaped human rights in British Columbia. These leaders challenged injustice, expanded freedoms, and opened doors for future generations.

At VIHRC, we are committed to inclusivity and stand against discrimination. We strive to empower a more just and equitable world through individual support, education, and community. Last year alone, we assisted 999 individuals through direct advocacy and education.

Kindly consider making a donation to VIHRC so we can continue to deliver critical human rights services for communities all across BC. Please click the link our bio to make your donation today!

Here's your short answer: Black people can’t be “racist” in a society built on white supremacy, because racism is prejudice plus power. Click on the reel to learn all about this!
