Our sanctuary is not just a place where senior, special needs and feral cats get to go to be spoiled and loved on their terms, it’s also a place where families get to stick together or are formed.

Marion and Howard came from the same property as seniors ready for a retirement home but not quite interested in being pets. Their familiarity is obvious when you see them around the GVAC Sanctuary together. Howard loves the older ladies; he is often caught cuddling and grooming them 💗 These photos were just too precious not to share.

When we took two pregnant cats into care earlier today, we didn’t think we’d be meeting any kittens this soon! Just hours after she was settled into her foster home, we were shocked to see she’d given birth to her first kitten.

This is not cute. Or something your cat “should get to experience”. This is definitely not her first litter (the other cat is her kitten from a previous litter) but it will be her last. Keep going, mama.

Look who’s eating wet food?!?!? This will make a huge difference in her recovery. Good girl Colette.

Want to be part of her recovery journey? Here’s our bottle baby wish list. Right now she is eating recovery food from the vet but we will need to try others to find one that works for her. Feel free to send us any wet kitten food or tofu litter. :) Colette would be ever so grateful!

Colette continues to improve and we are so very proud of her for her desire to fight! This beautiful baby has gained over 100g in less than a week and her gums and tongue are pinking up nicely.

Have a great weekend everyone. Enjoy the sunshine while it’s here.

Lou (dwarf hamster) is a senior lady. She’s been in care since January and was about a year old at that time. You’d never know she’s almost 2 now! She is so sweet, happy and always up to something.
