TODAY IS THE DAY TO JAM CAUSE NO BLUES JAM SEPT 6 OR 13!!! It's Sunday!! Did you hear we now have a full food menu at the blues jam - including appies, main entree items, burgers, etc. ??? Wonderful food! Sunday Blues Services hosted by the Deb Rhymer Band at Studio 919 at the Strathcona Hotel. Doors open at 3 pm and the jam is from 4 to 730 pm. $5.00 cover charge but always free for jammers. FREE Parking in the city Courtney St parkade next door. Great blues jam, 2 dance floors, table and food service, an elevator for those with mobility issues and our regular 50/50 draw. See you there!!

"TWENTY years of “shaking her tail feather” with the Soul Shakers and this songbird is ready to retire! Even her career as a bus driver didn’t last that long!!

It has been an amazing run. Since inception of the band back in 2006, the band has had 2 different drummers, 4 different keyboard players, 2 different guitarists, a brass section that changed twice ….. and still Joyce sang on.

Belting it out or crooning a sweet soft melody, she has reached out and touched you all and there have been a lot of you!

We will miss you Joyce! Enjoy that retirement, it’s well deserved.

Her two final shows will be held at Upstairs Lounge, Oak Bay Rec. Centre on November 27, 2026 and January 23, 2027. We’ll keep you posted about ticket sales."
