Disclaimer: we do our best to not hurt those we are fighting for by posting their faces or other identifying features. We believe that reality has to be seen though; if it was shown more maybe there wouldn’t be so much division or so many differences of “opinion” on this issue (because opinions should be formed after reviewing and analyzing FACTS, which isn’t always being done when it comes to homelessness, the impact of certain things on homelessness.. like addiction and health, sweeps, etc. Perhaps this is because it’s hard to watch? Perhaps it’s because misinformation is coming from reputable sources?)

I know it’s hard to think about, but this weather is a reminder that you can help people stay alive while they unfortunately face and have to navigate homelessness.

It’s already wet and cold out there and it’s only the second day of September.

Remember, none of us can do it alone. You’ve probably needed (and got) support before. Your privileges probably helped you out.. A LOT. It’s not up to you or me to judge.. it’s up to us to help though. Keep folks alive.

🔹Strong winds incoming: Environment Canada issues weather statement ahead of afternoon wind storm🔹

It’s a bit early but the first wind storm of the season is coming in hot!

Strong winds reaching 80km/h are forecasted for Greater Victoria and the Malahat this afternoon, with most of the impact expected along the city’s east coast. More from E-C:

What:
Strong southeast winds with gusts up to 80 km/h.

When:
Winds picking up this afternoon and easing late this evening.

Where:
Exposed coastal sections of the Greater Victoria region and Southern Gulf Islands.

Additional information:
A cold front will sweep through the region this evening bringing moderate to strong gusts to Haro Strait. As such, communities along the coast may see gusts up to 80 km/h. The front will exit the region late this evening and winds will ease subsequently.

Local utility outages are possible. Secure loose objects.

We ALL need support sometimes (and have gotten to where we are today because of it). We all need to be shown love, compassion, grace, and of course kindness. We all need some hope to be given to us in moments when things get really really really bad. That’s what The Care Pack Project Foundation aims to do (amongst other things, like talking to hire ups in formal capacities and educating others).

We’re here for eachother. Our hands reach in when too many pull away, and this video hopefully inspires you to do the same. It’s easier to do than you think, and more needed than you’ve been told.

The number of people out there keeps growing.

Thankfully this volunteer did, and donated, a ton.

A ton more than she needed to.

Join us. Help us. None of us can do it alone.

I didn’t mention how everyone feels cold, hunger, thirst, tired, hopeless, sad, etc. because I know that stuff obvious.

I also didn’t mention worthiness because I wanted to take the time to explain why people are worthy for those who forgot. Of course there’s intrinsic worthiness in each individual person too but I spoke on part.

Also, as The Care Pack Project Foundations founder I thought it was very important to mention that my God leads me to do what I do. He has not only allowed me to do it, has kept and continues to keep me safe, but He also supports me and guides me in my steps. I’m so thankful to have such a great leader.

Whatever or whoever you follow, I hope that they are as good as my God is. If you’re here they probably are.

I see a lot of people going to church. A LOT of people quoting scripture.

A lot of people claiming to follow Christ.

Wheres the disconnect though? I thought that the beauty of calling yourself a Christian is grace, love, compassion… the ability to help without judgement, forgive, show kindness and respect to everyone.. NOT judging someone for their mistakes. Colour. Place of birth. Circumstance.

Be better. Put the “Christ” back in “Christian “.. PLEASE.
