Blossoming at the Farm is seeking to expand its team with a variety of full-time and part-time positions supporting children and youth.

We are hiring staff to work within our unique not-for-profit that have relevant experience, enjoy being outdoors, are open to working collaboratively and organically, and place a strong value on mentoring and social thinking practices.

Our programming is land-based, child-honouring, socially focused and community driven. Many of our participants are neurodiverse and our work is deeply rooted in coregulation, trauma informed practice, and strength-based growth mindset values.

This is a contract position from September 2026 to June 2027 with a possibility of renewal, and you must be at least 19 years of age to apply.

What a wonderful day at the farm on our 7th Annual Blossoming at the Farm Fundraiser! While the final numbers haven't come in we can confidently say that we exceeded our goal, and we are enormously grateful for the generosity of everyone that helped make that happen. We can't wait to see you all next year!

The event aims to raise about $10,000 to support its land-based learning programs and subsidize costs for families.
“We open the farm up to the public so families can come and enjoy the animals, the land, good food, and community,” said Tania Stearns-Smith, co-founder and director of Blossoming at the Farm Society.

Job Posting for Summer Camp Counsellor

Tasks and Responsibilities:
☀️ Work with summer campers aged 6 to 16.
☀️ Build relationships with all campers by showing compassion, empathy, fun, and understanding.
☀️ Enthusiastically engage with all campers through a variety of activities, including group games, art projects, facilitated land walks and animal visits, and more.
☀️ Set up and take down projects and activities as directed by Camp Lead.
☀️ Clean up camp zones as directed by Camp Lead.
☀️ Connect with Camp Lead before and after camp to learn more about what tasks you will be working on that day and important things to know.

Requirements:
- Applicants must be able to work in all weather conditions, including very hot temperatures.
- Applicants must be able to work outside all day.

This is a 4 day a week position, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 to 4:30pm, with alternating Fridays or Saturday based on program needs, to a maximum of 35 hours per week.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
🌻 Work with summer campers aged 6 to 16.
🌻 Greet campers as they arrive and engage with guardians at check-in and pick-up when needed or necessary.
🌻 Build relationships with all campers by showing compassion, empathy, fun, and understanding.
🌻 Enthusiastically engage with all campers through a variety of activities, including group games, art projects, facilitated land walks and animal visits, and more.
🌻 Make a schedule and plan out all activities happening in the week of camp they’re leading, and provide a written copy of that plan to the Program Director before camp starts.
🌻 Proactively layer in necessary supports and interventions.
🌻 Establish leadership, build cohesion, and set expectations within the camp by explaining and modelling group expectations and agreement around land, self, others, and animals.
🌻 Ensure Co-Lead gets their lunch break.
🌻 Ensure summer campers with medication agreements receive their meds at the right time.
🌻 Connect with the Program Director before and after camp to talk through behaviours, questions, gaps, etc.
🌻 Connect with Camp Co-Lead before each day of camp to share news and information; connect after camp when necessary to debrief and plan for the next day.
🌻 Connect with Camp Counsellors when needed to provide feedback, coaching conversations and support.

This is a 4 day a week position, Monday through Thursday, 8:30 to 4:30pm, with alternating Fridays or Saturday based on program needs, to a maximum of 35 hours per week.

Job Posting for Landscape Gardener

Tasks and Responsibilities:
🌼 Work on the land to care for gardens, trees, and grassy areas.
🌼 Use tools such as shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows.
🌼 Engage in seasonally appropriate invasive species removal.
🌼 Deadhead flowers, cut flowers, and place flowers into cut water buckets.
🌼 Maintain our roadside garden stand by filling it with flowers and vegetables every morning.
🌼 Harvest and prep vegetables for use.
🌼 Occasional tasks related to events and seasonal farm bookings.
🌼 Tasks include sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and making repetitive motions.

Requirements:
- Applicants must be able to work in all weather conditions, including very hot temperatures.
- Applicants must be able to work outside all day.
- Applicants must be able to have flexibility in their flow of day, and the ability to pivot tasks and responsibilities when directed to by supervisors.

This is a 5 day a week position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30, to a maximum of 35 hours per week.

If you would like to order cookies, there's still time! We are selling snickerdoodles as well as peanut butter, monster, and chocolate chip cookies. Cookies are $20 per dozen.
