Our season has begun! Ship’s crews and shore workers are coming regularly now, and what a delight to reconnect with friends from previous years. God is at work in lives and we praise Him for the privilege of sharing His Word and encouraging others to know Him as Saviour. Thank you for your prayers, and your part in the ministry.

Crew from Norwegian Bliss began arriving in the morning and by the time we closed the doors at 11:00 pm, over 100 seafarers had visited the tent. For many this was a first time visit. Crew received helpful Christian literature, knitted caps, and lots of cups of hot chocolate and coffee.

On Saturday morning the Norwegian Jade arrived at Ogden Point. This was a first visit and no one aboard was familiar with Victoria Lighthouse Ministry. Whitney was volunteering when a crew member came in, and the two of them struck up a conversation. When Whitney asked him if he was a Christian, he answered, “Oh, Yes!” enthusiastically. Whitney then said, “Are you born again?” and he said, “No.”
Here are Whitney’s words…”I explained what it meant, and concluded that he didn’t know what true Christianity was. I packed him some material in a ziplock bag and pointed him to John 3:16. When he was back on the boat, he sent me an email thanking me for my hospitality. I will keep in touch with him.”

How important is it that a ship carrying at least 1000 crew members stops in Victoria and only one person comes to the tent?

It is vitally important to Jesus, who tells the parable of the Good Shepherd leaving the ninety-nine in search of one lost sheep. That is the depth of His love for the lost.

Our desire is to follow God’s leading as we serve at Victoria Lighthouse Ministry. This is our prayer—

Lord, pick out all the needy ones, the sad of heart, and those who are struggling.
Show us the hurting and hiding ones.
Give us spiritual insight to see.
Help us to never miss the voice of someone living in spiritual darkness
Make us sensitive to the touch that reveals a deep hurt, physical pain or spiritual need.
Help us to see the one person in the crowd that needs You.
Show us the one who is ready to know Jesus.
