The Verona Lions Garlic Farmers Market will be held on Saturday September 5 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Verona Lions Club, 4504 Verona Sand Road. This is a rain or shine event with both indoor and outdoor venues. Canteen is open for breakfast and lunch. Entry is by donation, with free parking on site. Due to Department of Health Regulations, please no pets allowed on the site. They offer free dog sitting!

Thursdays: Come bring your craft every Thursday at Ewe Can Knit! They have their weekly Craft Group every Thursday from 10 am to noon. Bring your craft and join them for a fun morning. They welcome everyone to join them and there's no cost. They are also able to assist you with your knit and crochet questions. They are located in the same building as the Verona Convenience Store at 6667 Hwy 38 and their entrance is on Walker Street.

July 10. Dog Days of Summer/Touch a Truck (SFFR) at Frontenac Farmers Market on Friday, July 10, 3 pm to 7 pm. Bring the kids for the Annual Touch a Truck day! The Fire Department will be on site with trucks and other surprises. Plus for dog lovers!! Pawsitive Impact as they host Dog Days of Summer. Enjoy special booths. Event includes dog nail trimming, pet portraits, agility course, treats just for the dogs

July 11 South Frontenac-Hartington Community Sharing Centre 45th Anniversary/Grand Re-opening/Open House will be held on Saturday July 11, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Check out the pumper truck, stop by the Library reading tent for a short story, shop for treasures at The Sharing Centre, and meet many others who help put heart into this community.

July 19 Outdoor Concert: Vocal Legacy on Sunday, July 19, 10:00 am, McMullen Beach. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy this beautiful outdoors setting! Rain location will be at the Verona Free Methodist Church Hall for an indoor coffee house.

July 18 Style Revival Clothing Center will be open Saturday July 18 from 10 am to 1 pm. Style Revival provides gently used clothing, free of charge. They are also open every Wednesday. Location at the Verona Free Methodist Church

It's strawberry time at last! Bellrock Community Hall is hosting a Strawberry Social and you're invited on Saturday June 20 from 11 am to 4pm. The music group Still Standing will be there to entertain you. A barbecue, vendors, Harrowsmith Brewery, baked goodies and of course strawberries and ice cream. Lakes and Trails Festival 2026 will be held at McMullen Park Beach on Saturday, June 20 from 10 am to 3 pm. The Lakes and Trails Festival is a free, family-friendly summer celebration of the outdoors and the beauty that our region has to offer. Lots to see and do. Yoga and Pilates Fusion Class, Little Ray's Reptiles Show, Guided Bird Walk , Pete Moss Nature Songs & Stories , Supervised Swim and Water Games , Kids Nature Craft Station, Not So Amateur Amateurs Inflatables , Educational Booth. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

GriefShare is a special seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Each GriefShare session includes a video seminar and group discussion. A GriefShare workbook assists you with note-taking, journaling and grief study and is a vital part of this program. The cost for the workbook is $40. GriefShare is a nondenominational group and features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. * New Seniors Coffee & Conversation Gathering will be held at the Lions Hall every Monday in June from 1 pm to 3 pm. This relaxed and friendly get-together is open to all seniors in the area. There is no cost to attend.

** Verona Lions are holding a Verona Lions Breakfast on Saturday, May 30, from 8:30 to 10:30 am in support of the Relay for Life Canadian Cancer Society. By donation.

** Stuff a Fire Truck event. Help fill the South Frontenac Food Bank. South Frontenac Fire and Rescue will have the Stuff a Fire Truck on Saturday, May 23 from 10 am to 2 pm at Verona Foodland.

** Summer Kickoff Music Festival on Saturday, May 23 from 2 pm to 9 pm. Join us for some live local music! (headliner : Scott Owen) The event is a true celebration of local talent and artistry, bringing together masters of their craft in the music, food, and drink industries here in South Frontenac. The event takes place at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith. Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted at the gate.

** New Seniors Coffee & Conversation Gathering is held at the Lions Hall every Monday afternoon starting May 25 from 1 pm to 3 pm. ( no meeting on Victoria Day) This relaxed and friendly get-together is open to all seniors in the area. Attendees can enjoy a cup of coffee, engage in lively conversation, and take part in friendly games like crokinole, cribbage, card games. Whether you’re looking to meet new people or simply spend a pleasant afternoon in good company, all are welcome. There is no cost to attend. A small donation jar will be available for those who wish to contribute spare change to help keep the coffee flowing. Bring a friend on the 25, and be part of this new community gathering in Verona.

** Verona Diners Lunch Club for seniors 55+ will be held Thursday April 23 at the Verona Free Methodist Church. Meal will be cabbage roll casserole, a side and dessert. Entertainment is Cowboy Mark Mcdonell. $10. Lunch served at noon. Please call 613-376-6477 ext. 301 to reserve.
