Hello everyone,

The Recommendation Committee for the RCIP North Okanagan–Shuswap region has decided, effective immediately, to restrict further participation in this program by employers operating businesses "similar in nature" to those included in the previously established restricted NAICS list, whether currently designated or seeking designation.

This decision extends the Committee’s previous directive and is intended to encompass all types of limited-service restaurants, in order to ensure transparency and consistent compliance with this requirement.

You can find the detailed list of NAICS codes referred above on our website's 'Priority Sectors & NOCs' page : https://rcipnorthokanaganshuswap.com/priority-sectors-nocs/

Hi everyone,

We're trying to provide a clarification regarding an announcement made by the Immigration Minister earlier this month about "accelerating" permanent residence for 33,000 workers.

Key points about this one-time 'In-Canada Workers Initiative':

- The initiative targets the "existing inventory" of permanent residence applications - not new applications - under programs such as the Provincial Nominee, community pilots and similar streams.
- Apart from other requirements, applicants must have lived in smaller Canadian communities for 2 years or more.
- Applicants do not need to take any action.
-Eligible applications may be processed faster.

You can share this information with anyone looking for clarity on the announcement.

Hello everyone,

We’ve been receiving this question very frequently: what happens if you do not receive a recommendation within a given intake window?

The answer is simple — if you do not receive a recommendation, your application will remain in the candidate pool for up to six months.

There are two exceptions:
• if you withdraw and resubmit a new application; or
• if your application is recommended within the six-month period.

Please note that you must continue to meet all eligibility requirements in order to remain in the program. 🙌

Hello everyone,

We were delighted to offer recommendations to the applications from a variety of priority and secondary NOC codes.

A common thread for these top scorers was strong language scores, time working and living within our community, years of related work experience from outside and inside Canada, higher wages and the highest eligible education.

The Pool/Point System on our website's Priority Sectors & NOCs page can be consulted to identify aspects for improving the score: rcipnorthokanaganshuswap.com/resources-and-policies/

We thank everyone for their participation! 🙌

Hello everyone,

This post is to address the concern of those applicants who couldn't make it to the recommendation - we understand your situation.

The applications not recommended during any given intake window, stay in the candidate pool for six months from the date of application submission until either withdrawn for any reason or recommended before the expiry of six months' timeline. Additionally, you must stay in status to be able to ensure your continuity in the program.

If you believe your score can be improved in the near future, you are welcome to reapply by having your employer request withdrawal and resubmit the application during an Applicant Intake Window.

Thank you for your participation, wishing you all the best for the next intake!🙂
