2. Fire Smart –

Some of our recent accomplishments:
• Successfully lobbied our local politicians to save the BX Ranch Land, (166 Acres ) now known as sncəcmałqtn Agricultural 4122 East Vernon Road.
• We were asked by RDNO to form a 'Friends of the Park' Volunteer Committee.
• Hosted several Fire Smart events:
o SenseNet Early Warning System for BX Silver Star
o Animal Rescue
o Wild Fire Preparedness.
• Community educational events such as gardening, local plants (invasive and indigenous), wetland restoration, food forests, and owl, raptor, and bat habitat
• Working to improve road safety through multi-use paths connecting schools and local parks

We invite you to join us with a $15 annual membership.
Your membership truly matters. It gives our community a strong, collective voice and ensures the BX Swan Lake area is represented at decision-making tables. There is exciting and important work ahead, and your support shows that our community cares and is engaged.

Your membership helps us build a safer, more connected, and more resilient community. We hope you’ll consider joining and be part of the work we do together.

Annual dues are $15 per person and membership is open to all North Okanagan Residents

Our mission is to provide access to an Agricultural Park, with a supportive community environment to enhance food security, promote regenerative agriculture, facilitate ecological restoration, and foster indigenous reconciliation.

We are so excited to have Liz Blakey from network join us at our annual general meeting, to share all about the Armstrong Food Hub and other initiatives in our area.

This meeting is open to non members and members alike, an opportunity to learn more about the great initiatives within the BX Silverstar Community.

The 3 Sisters Garden is becoming a beckon at the sncəcmałqtn Agricultural Park. This community group of volunteers has brought life and education to this project.
