The sponsorship behind the 2026 Women of the Year Awards was nothing short of extraordinary and that is because of this woman right here. πŸ’›πŸ†

Karen Riordan is the intelligent and innovative owner of Raven & Rook Media and as our Sponsorship lead, she built the foundation that made it possible to honour our nominees and winners in the way they truly deserved. The level of sponsor involvement for this event was inspirational and Karen made every single bit of it happen. πŸ’œ

Her work connecting businesses to this event and to the women being celebrated created a centerpoint of recognition that elevated the entire night. Every sponsor who showed up for our Entrepreneurs, Changemakers, and Community Impact leaders did so because Karen put in the work to make those relationships happen. 🌟

Karen, your intelligence, your drive, and your belief in the power of community partnership made the 2026 Women of the Year Awards possible in ways that go deeper than most people will ever know. Thank you for everything. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

She brought her coaching brilliance to every single aspect of this event and the whole committee felt it. πŸ’›πŸ†

Chelan Cotter is a practiced and talented Personal and Professional Coach and as our Tickets and Invitations lead she kept us organized, on track, and moving forward with the kind of practical guidance and insightful advice that only someone of her calibre can offer. πŸ’œ

But Chelan's contribution went far beyond her role. Her community knowledge, her warmth, and her ability to see the bigger picture elevated every conversation and every planning session she was part of. She contributed to every aspect of our event in ways that are impossible to fully measure. 🌟

Chelan, your charisma, your coaching heart, and your dedication to this community are a gift to everyone around you. Thank you for everything you poured into the 2026 Women of the Year Awards. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

Every great event needs someone who sees every detail that everyone else misses. For the 2026 Women of the Year Awards, that person was Dora Anderson. πŸ’›πŸ†

Dora served as our Secretary and was a key part of our Nominations and Judging Panel as well as our Space Planning lead. Known as the founder of Ecotecture, a green building design consultation company, Dora brought the same knowledge, precision, and detail-oriented approach to this committee that she brings to everything she does. πŸ’œ

Her ability to elevate plans and push our thinking further made the whole committee better. And if you have ever had the privilege of spending time in her beautiful office space that she so generously donated to our planning sessions, you already know that Dora does everything with intention and excellence. 🌟

Dora, your expertise, your dedication, and your quiet brilliance behind the scenes were a cornerstone of this event. Thank you for everything. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

There are leaders and then there is Sue Solymosi. πŸ’›πŸ†

The Women of the Year Awards does not happen without a fearless, visionary person at the helm and Sue was exactly that from day one. As our Chair, MC, and Nominations lead, Sue brought her signature clarity, stage presence, and organizational brilliance to every single aspect of this event. πŸ’œ

Sue is the founder of Chatterbox Creative, a business built on collaboration and connection, and it shows in everything she does. She did not just lead this committee. She held it together, pushed it forward, and stood on that stage on June 4 and brought the whole night to life with grace and power. 🌟

Sue, the 2026 Women of the Year Awards is a reflection of your leadership and we could not be more grateful. Thank you for being the fearless force behind it all. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

If you needed to know a business, a contact, or a resource in Vernon, Caroline Radics was your person. πŸ’›πŸ†

As our Community Liaison and Door Prizes lead, Caroline brought her vast knowledge of Vernon businesses and her deep roots in this community to the table in a way that was absolutely invaluable. An experienced insurance and investment advisor and an unwavering supporter of Vernon Women in Business, Caroline has been in this community's corner for a long time and it showed in everything she contributed. πŸ’œ

Her strategy, her connections, and her steady support helped the entire committee move forward with confidence. She knows this community inside and out and her dedication to seeing this event succeed was felt by everyone on the team. 🌟

Caroline, your loyalty, your expertise, and your heart for this community are something we do not take for granted. Thank you for everything you brought to the 2026 Women of the Year Awards. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

The 2026 Women of the Year Awards quite literally would not exist without this woman. πŸ’›πŸ†

Violet Vosper is the Community Engagement Lead at Community Dental, our charity partner of the year, and it was Violet who first brought the question to the VWIB board about bringing the Women of the Year Awards back in 2025. From that single conversation, an entire movement was born. πŸ’œ

As our Vice Chair and Logistics lead, Violet worked tirelessly behind the scenes managing the venue, volunteers, and every service requirement that goes into pulling off a night like June 4. The things that looked seamless on the night? That was Violet. 🌟

Violet, you planted the seed and then you helped it grow into something this community will never forget. Thank you for your vision, your dedication, and your heart for this community. We are endlessly grateful. πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰

What. A. Night. πŸ†πŸ’›

The 2026 Women of the Year Awards was everything we dreamed it would be and then some. Last night Coldstream Community Hall was filled with the most incredible energy, the warmest hearts, and a community that showed up and showed out for the women who deserve it most. πŸ’œ

To our committee, there are no words big enough. The months of planning, the late nights, the endless details, the passion and the dedication you poured into making last night what it was, it showed in every single moment of the evening. You are extraordinary and this community is so lucky to have you. πŸ™Œ

To our nominees, our winners, our sponsors, and every guest who filled that room last night, thank you. Thank you for dressing up, showing up, and being part of something truly special. Thank you for cheering each other on, for lifting each other up, and for reminding us all why we do this year after year. πŸ’œ

Because this never gets old. Watching women be celebrated, seen, and honoured for the incredible things they do in this community never ever gets old. And we would not have it any other way. 🌟

Until next year Vernon. What a privilege it is to do this with you. πŸ’›πŸŽ‰

She does not do this for recognition. She does it because she genuinely cannot help but show up for the people and animals around her. And that is exactly why Angie Ioakimidou is our 2026 Community Impact Award Winner. πŸ†πŸ’›

Angie is the Founder of Forever Home Sanctuary and when you start to look at everything she has built and everything she gives, you begin to realize that one title does not even come close to capturing who she is. πŸ’œ

Yes, she rescues animals and finds them loving homes. But she also shows up for seniors who need connection. She champions women's leadership in this community. She pours into youth development through storytelling and events. She builds initiatives that are not just feel-good moments but sustainable, lasting programs that continue to serve people long after the applause dies down. 🌟

What makes Angie truly extraordinary is not any one thing she does. It is the fact that she sees the full picture of a community and refuses to look away from any part of it. Where most people would pick one cause and focus there, Angie looks around and asks how she can do more. And then she actually does it. πŸ™Œ

She connects people. She empowers people. She uplifts multiple layers of this community at the same time without losing her heart or her energy for any of it. That kind of generosity is rare and this community is so much better because Angie Ioakimidou is in it. πŸ’œ

The Community Impact Award celebrates a woman whose work reaches beyond her walls and into the lives of the people who need it most. Angie does not just reach beyond her walls. She tears them down entirely and invites everyone in.

Angie, you are one of a kind and we are so proud to celebrate you as our 2026 Community Impact Award Winner. This one is so deeply deserved. πŸŽ‰
