📢 We are excited to announce Dawson Thomas as the Head Coach of our South Zone U15 A Female team.

Dawson brings a strong playing and coaching background to the program. He played at OHA and went on to play more than 100 games of junior hockey. Last season, he served as an Assistant Coach with the U18AA South Zone Knights, helping players develop the habits and mindset required to compete at a high level.

Dawson’s vision for the program is to build a culture where competing is non-negotiable. His teams are built on hard work, accountability, discipline, and a commitment to getting better every day. He believes success comes from earning everything through preparation, effort, and a relentless compete level both in practices and games.

“Our goal is to create a team that is difficult to play against every single night. We will compete for every puck, support one another, and take pride in the standards we set as a group. We want our players to leave the season not only as better hockey players, but as stronger and more confident young women."

We are excited to welcome Dawson to the program and look forward to the culture and competitiveness he will bring to the team. 👏👏👏

"This will be my 27th year coaching hockey & I have experience coaching multiple years at every level from Novice to Junior B. For the past 10 years I have been coaching the U18 male program with U18 Zones (7 years) and PMHA T2 (3 years).

I’m very much looking forward to the new challenge of coaching the female program and I am especially excited to be coaching with my daughter, Ali, who was an assistant with the U15 Female Zone team last season."

Welcome to the team, Brian! 🏒

"I’m honoured and excited to take on the role of Head Coach for the North Okanagan Zone Rep NOVAS.

Hockey has always been a major part of my life. I play and help organize the Okanagan Syilx Indigenous competitive men’s hockey team, and I also run a local men’s league hockey team. Last season, I had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Coach with the NOVAS program, which gave me valuable experience working alongside a great group of players, families, and coaches.

Away from the rink, I’m a proud Métis graphic designer, small business owner, and girl dad. Through my design work and clothing brand, I enjoy supporting local organizations and community initiatives. My company is also proud to support and sponsor the annual OKIB Syilx Hockey School through design services and promotional materials.

As Head Coach, my goal is to create a positive, competitive, and supportive environment where players can develop their skills, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork, accountability, leadership, and respect.

OMAHA is excited to welcome back our U18A Female North Zone Head Coach!

" I am very excited to coach in the U18A Female North Zone program for another season. This will be the third year with the Novas and I am proud to be a part of it. After many years in the boys U15/U18 A/AA Rep and Junior loops, the Female program has grown in leaps and bounds and helping it along locally is very satisfying. I stay committed to keeping a safe and fun environment for personal and athletic development of these female hockey players. I encourage leadership and competitive play through shared passion, mutual respect, energy and commitment where the team is stronger than the individuals that make it up. The game should be hard but fun. I continue to be amazed at these athletes as they grow as people and build confidence on and off the ice.

Off the ice I am a working Mechanical Engineer and Business Manager for a large European-based equipment manufacturer and engineering firm. Having played high-level hockey has taught me that life lessons developed in that time such as team work, doing your best and increased self confidence are attributes that become a part of your identity."
