WNSC Trails Update Today April 3rd!

It is with sadness and great honour that we share this message with all of you — the trails of the West Nipissing Snowmobile Club are now officially closed for the season.

It takes an incredible team of Volunteers to keep trails open for a full season. Our Volunteers collectively dedicated hundreds of hours throughout the season packing trails, brushing corridors, installing signage, coordinating landowner and rider relations, attending meetings, focusing on safety, and working together with one shared mindset: to open as early as possible (Jan 4 2026) and to have the best trail experience possible for both local and visiting riders.

Even though we had a significant break down on one of our groomer at the start of the season, with the help of our District NNTA Spare unit and North Bay Snowmobile Club Groomer, we were able to keep our trails Groomed/Open for nearly 13 weeks.

A bit more stats to show how much it takes to keep trails open. Between both groomers, we groomed a total of 800+ hours of overnight grooming and burnt over 13600L of fuel. Without this dedication of groomer operators, flat ribbon trails wouldn't exist.

A BIG thank you goes out to our local landowners who graciously allow our trails to cross their property each winter and also to all sledders that purchase their permits each season. Without your support, none of this would be possible. Please respect trail closures and private property.

While the riding season has come to an end, the work for our volunteers does not stop. Please stay tuned for an AGM meeting date as our club is looking for a few new positions to fill for next season.

From all of us at the West. Nipissing Snowmobile Club — thank you for an incredible winter.

WNSC trail update:
Our Groomer Operators have been busy getting trails flat again after this snow/rain storm. Get out there and enjoy while we still can. Just make sure to check ITG before you head out to make sure the trails you ride are open.

WNSC trail update: As many of you have been wondering if trails will re-open. Our volunteers have been checking trails, swamps, creeks and the water has gone down and groomer operators are working thru the nights to get them ready. The good news is that trails in the WNSC are still available and ready to ride! Please refer to ITG before going out as the conditions might change quickly with this spring weather. We ask riders to pay attention when riding yellow conditions as this mild weather has caused some imperfections in our trail base. Please ride responsibly, enjoy the trails and support our local businesses.

Trail Update:

Please be aware that after a mild/rainy weather spell this weekend, we had to shutdown some trails. We will continue to monitor every day to see how many trails we can keep open but please refer to the ITG before going out and please be "RESPONSIBLE" with our landowner properties. We are trying to keep trails open but only if mother nature will cooperate with us.

Good News Alert!
The WNSC is very grateful to receive a $900 donation from the 2026 Annual Polaris Ambassador Ride that took place at Temagami Shores last weekend. This amazing group of Polaris Ambassadors organize an annual ride and fundraiser to highlight the brand and support snowmobiling clubs.

These dollars will be invested back into our trail network to make it even better. Thank you Polaris Ambassadors!

As you’re out enjoying the trails, please remember to ride on the right-hand side and leave the loud can at home.

Respecting trail etiquette helps keep everyone safe, protects our access to trails, and maintains positive relationships with landowners and nearby residents.

Let’s all do our part to keep snowmobiling enjoyable for everyone — safe, respectful, and quiet when possible.

Thanks for supporting the sport and our trails! ❄️👏

🌙 Ever wondered what groomer operators do while most people are sleeping?

While the rest of the world is tucked in, our dedicated groomer operators are out there putting in long overnight hours to make sure our trails are smooth, safe, and ready to ride come morning. ❄️

Trail grooming isn’t just a quick drive—it takes patience, skill, and a whole lot of commitment. From monitoring conditions to carefully shaping the base, these volunteers work through the night so members and visitors can enjoy fresh, well-maintained trails the next day.

Next time you’re out riding and enjoying those perfect morning trails, give a little wave (or a big thank you!) to the folks who make it happen. 🙌

TRAIL UPDATE 🚨❄️

Good morning riders and Happy Friday!!

We’re happy to share that D103 from Lavigne to St. Charles T has been fully groomed and is looking great. With current conditions, we’re making the call to OPEN this section ✅

👉 Sturgeon will be groomed tonight, and that section should be in great shape as
well.

As always, please ride with caution, respect the trails, and check the ITG for the most up-to-date trail status before heading out.

Enjoy the ride and stay safe out there! 🛷💨

Thank You, Riders! 🙏❄️

We’d like to take a moment to thank everyone for staying off the trails during the recent warm and wet conditions. Because of your cooperation, the base has held up well, and our volunteers have been able to clear downed trees and address problem areas.

We’re happy to share that the groomers are now back out on the trails, and if conditions continue to cooperate, we are hopeful to see trail colours by Friday or Saturday 🤞.

Please remember that trail conditions can change quickly. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, always refer to the ITG (Interactive Trail Guide) before heading out.

Thank you again to our volunteers and to our riders for your patience and respect for the trails — it truly makes a difference! 💙
