WNSC Trails Update Today April 3rd!
It is with sadness and great honour that we share this message with all of you — the trails of the West Nipissing Snowmobile Club are now officially closed for the season.
It takes an incredible team of Volunteers to keep trails open for a full season. Our Volunteers collectively dedicated hundreds of hours throughout the season packing trails, brushing corridors, installing signage, coordinating landowner and rider relations, attending meetings, focusing on safety, and working together with one shared mindset: to open as early as possible (Jan 4 2026) and to have the best trail experience possible for both local and visiting riders.
Even though we had a significant break down on one of our groomer at the start of the season, with the help of our District NNTA Spare unit and North Bay Snowmobile Club Groomer, we were able to keep our trails Groomed/Open for nearly 13 weeks.
A bit more stats to show how much it takes to keep trails open. Between both groomers, we groomed a total of 800+ hours of overnight grooming and burnt over 13600L of fuel. Without this dedication of groomer operators, flat ribbon trails wouldn't exist.
A BIG thank you goes out to our local landowners who graciously allow our trails to cross their property each winter and also to all sledders that purchase their permits each season. Without your support, none of this would be possible. Please respect trail closures and private property.
While the riding season has come to an end, the work for our volunteers does not stop. Please stay tuned for an AGM meeting date as our club is looking for a few new positions to fill for next season.
From all of us at the West. Nipissing Snowmobile Club — thank you for an incredible winter.
