Community Information & Organizational Meeting

The historic CN Station has been part of Vermilion's history for more than a century. Now it's time to explore what its future could look like.

If you'd like to be part of preserving this important landmark, we invite you to attend the organizational meeting for the proposed Vermilion CN Station Preservation Society.

We'll share our vision and talk about how we can work with the Town of Vermilion and the Government of Alberta to support the preservation and restoration of the station.

This is an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and become one of our founding members. Whether you have experience in heritage, fundraising, construction, governance, or simply care about preserving a piece of Vermilion's history, everyone is welcome.

Date: Tuesday August 11, 2026

Time: 7:00 pm

Location: Copper Cork Distillery

Get to know the Franklin's Ground Squirrel! 🐿

This Alberta squirrel species lives in central Alberta but has become increasingly rare to see. Naturalists are of the impression the Franklin's Ground Squirrel population is declining 📉

Luckily, scientists at MacEwan University 👩‍🔬 , in partnership with Nature Alberta 🌿, are trying to learn more about it!
