A wonderful evening at the residence of Ireland's Ambassador to Canada, John Concannon, discussing the upcoming Canada–Ireland 180 commemorations and the future of Ireland's Diaspora Strategy with TD Neale Richmond.
We were also honoured to meet General John de Chastelain, whose outstanding contribution to peace through his work on the Good Friday Agreement has left a lasting legacy. His insight and generosity were truly inspiring.
The evening was further enriched by remarks from Speaker of the House Francis Scarpaleggia, who delivered an excellent speech highlighting the importance of the deep and enduring ties between Canada and Ireland.
Looking forward to continuing to strengthen these connections as we celebrate 180 years of friendship between our two nations. 🇨🇦🇮🇪 Thank you to the Embassy of Ireland.

Une merveilleuse soirée à la résidence de l’ambassadeur d’Irlande au Canada, John Concannon, où nous avons discuté des prochaines commémorations Canada–Irlande 180 ainsi que de l’avenir de la stratégie de la diaspora irlandaise avec le député Neale Richmond.
Nous avons également eu l’honneur de rencontrer le général John de Chastelain, dont la contribution exceptionnelle à la paix grâce à son travail dans le cadre de l’Accord du Vendredi saint a laissé un héritage durable. Sa vision et sa générosité ont été véritablement inspirantes.
La soirée a été enrichie par les remarques du président de la Chambre, Francis Scarpaleggia, qui a prononcé un excellent discours soulignant l’importance des liens profonds et durables qui unissent le Canada et l’Irlande.
Nous nous réjouissons de continuer à renforcer ces liens alors que nous célébrons 180 ans d’amitié entre nos deux nations. 🇨🇦🇮🇪
