CALS - The Community Association for Lasting Success CALS provides Head Start, Family Literacy and School Nutrition programs in Vegreville, Alberta.

The Community Association for Lasting Success (CALS) is a nonprofit, charitable organization governed by a board of directors representing service organizations in the community of Vegreville. The creation of CALS was the result of these organizations coming together and identifying a need to provide early childhood programming for families with children experiencing developmental delays or who may be at risk due to social and/or environmental factors.

Give Your Child a Head Start with CALS

CALS Head Start is a supportive Early Childhood Education program designed to help children build confidence, skills, and a strong foundation before kindergarten.

Program highlights:
• No fees
• Transportation subsidies
• Access to SLP, OT, and PT services

This program supports children who may benefit from extra help, including:
• Speech and language delays
• Developmental or physical disabilities
• Medical conditions
• Behavioural or developmental concerns

Early intervention in a nurturing, inclusive environment can make a lasting difference.

Eligibility: Children ages 2 years, 8 months to under 5 years (as of September 1)

Today, we honour the life and legacy of our dear friend and incredible CALS supporter, Dwayne Hlady.

Dwayne truly embodied the meaning of leaving your community a better place than you found it. He was kind, generous, and deeply committed to helping others. He cared greatly about the people in his community and believed everyone deserved the opportunity to thrive and succeed. Through his hard work and dedication, he helped improve the lives of seniors, children, families, and some of our most vulnerable community members.

Dwayne showed us what it means to be a true community builder. He taught us the importance of getting involved, making a difference, and the lasting power of volunteering. His example inspired so many and his impact will continue to be felt for years to come.

Thank you, Dwayne, for all you gave and for making our community a better place to live. You will be so greatly missed.

Rest in peace. You leave behind a legacy in our hearts and throughout our community.
