Today, we gathered at the Ontario Firefighter Memorial to honour and remember the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

The Vaughan Professional Fire Fighters Association would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined us today — fellow firefighters, families, friends, dignitaries, and members of the community. Your presence, support, and solidarity mean so much.

We remember those who gave everything, we honour their legacy, and we continue to stand together in their memory.

**Never forgotten. Always remembered.** ❤️‍🚒

***Ottawa Canadain Fallen Firefighters memorial weekend***

🚒❤️ 560km+. Countless memories. One powerful purpose.🇨🇦

Our VPFFA Members Tyler Costoff and Mark Ferguson along with firefighters from across Canada, took on an incredible 560km+ cycle from Hamilton to Ottawa in support of the and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

But this ride was about so much more than the kilometres. It was about remembering. Honouring. Never forgetting.

This year, the names of two members of the Vaughan Fire and Rescue family will be added to the Wall :

❤️ **Teresa Houben**
❤️ **John Graham**

Two firefighters. Two lives. Two families forever changed. And two names that will forever be a part of the Vaughan Fire and Rescue family.

Their journey is a powerful reminder that while the kilometres may eventually end, **the commitment to remember our fallen never does.**

To all the firefighters from across Canada who joined this ride — thank you for standing together as one fire family.

Thanks to our VPFFA Honour Guard and members who took the time to travel to Ottawa for the memorial weekend.

**Your service will never be forgotten.**

🚒The Vaughan Firefighters Benevolent Committee 🚒 would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this fundraiser such a success.

A special thank you goes out to our incredible Humber College Fire Pre-Service volunteers for donating your time, energy, and hard work throughout the day. Your support played a huge role in making this event possible.

We’d also like to thank Canadian Tire Woodbridge for generously allowing us to use your parking lot and helping provide a space for our community to come together for two amazing causes.
Because of the overwhelming support from our community, we were proud to raise $4,036 on the day!
All proceeds were split between two incredible organizations:
💙 Let’s Cure Lucas
❤️ Jumpstart
Most importantly, thank you to the Vaughan community for always showing up and supporting the causes that matter. Your generosity, kindness, and continued support allow us to keep making a difference where it counts most.

We are incredibly proud to serve a community that continues to step up for others.
From all of us at the Vaughan Firefighters Benevolent Committee — THANK YOU.

VPFFA are honoured to be attending the 29th Annual Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association Convention this week as we come together to conduct important provincial-level business, collaborate on the issues impacting our profession, and continue advocating for firefighters across Ontario.

This evening, we gather in reflection and remembrance during the Memorial Service, honouring this year’s Line of Duty Deaths (LODDs) — paying tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who gave everything in service to their communities.
We remember. We honour. We carry their legacy forward.

Late Tuesday afternoon Vaughan Fire was called to the area of Snidercroft Avenue for a reported grass fire near the rail tracks. Upon arrival crews encountered a large wind driven fire that would eventually spread to trailers and other miscellaneous contents. There were no reported injuries.
