Late Tuesday afternoon Vaughan Fire was called to the area of Snidercroft Avenue for a reported grass fire near the rail tracks. Upon arrival crews encountered a large wind driven fire that would eventually spread to trailers and other miscellaneous contents. There were no reported injuries.

What an incredible day at the 4th Annual VPFFA Charity Golf Tournament at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club! ⛳️

Thank you to everyone who came out today to pay their respects and stand together in honour of Captain D’Agostino.
Your presence meant more than words can express to the family, friends, and the entire fire service community. The unity, support, and brother and sisterhood shown today was a true reflection of the respect held for a remarkable leader, firefighter, and person.
A special thank you to the VPFFA Honour Guard for your professionalism, dignity, and dedication in providing such a powerful tribute. You represented our service with pride and honour, and helped make today’s farewell truly memorable.

We would also like to sincerely thank our brothers and sisters from Brampton Brampton Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 1068, Richmond Hill Richmond Hill Professional Fire Fighters Association, and Markham for covering our stations, allowing our members the opportunity to attend the funeral service. Your support and solidarity did not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.

The VPPFA Honour Guard recently came together for our Annual General Meeting and practice session as we prepare for the year ahead.
This meeting focused on planning, coordination, and training to ensure we continue to represent our Association, our members, and our community with the highest level of professionalism and respect at every event we attend.
From ceremonies and memorials to community events, the Honour Guard remains committed to upholding the traditions and pride of the fire service.

January is firefighter cancer awareness month.

As firefighters, we are faced with heightened risk of occupational cancers due to repeated exposure of carcinogens on the fire ground.

The VPFFA and VFRS work collaboratively to update our cancer prevention framework to help protect members and will continue to advocate for early access to cancer screening for firefighters.
