🇲🇺 L'éducation supérieure, c'est là que tout commence.
La semaine dernière, notre Présidente et Fondatrice, Padminee Chundunsing, a rencontré le Dr. le Hon. Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, Ministre de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Science et de la Recherche.
Au cœur de l'échange : faire de Maurice un véritable carrefour du savoir pour l'Afrique et l'océan Indien. Pas en théorie. En partenariats concrets, en recherche conjointe, en mobilité étudiante.
Le potentiel avec le Canada est immense. Il ne demandait qu'à être structuré.
C'est exactement ce que le CMTIV s'attelle à bâtir. 🇲🇺🤝🇨🇦
La semaine a aussi été marquée par une rencontre stratégique avec Sachin Mohabeer, Deputy CEO de l'Economic Development Board, aux côtés de Zaahirah Atchia, Vice-Présidente Développement des Affaires, ainsi que des échanges avec la Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation et plusieurs leaders sectoriels.
Une chose est sûre : la relation Canada–Maurice ne se résumera plus à des chiffres d'investissement.

🇨🇦 Higher education is where it all starts.
Last week, our President & Founder, Padminee Chundunsing, met with Dr. the Hon. Kaviraj Sharma Sukon, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research.
The conversation was clear: position Mauritius as a knowledge hub for Africa and the Indian Ocean. Not through declarations — through joint research, student exchanges, and real partnerships.
Canada has the institutions. Mauritius has the gateway. The bridge between them? That's what CMTIV is building. 🇨🇦🤝🇲🇺
The week also brought a strategic session with Sachin Mohabeer, Deputy CEO of the Economic Development Board, alongside Zaahirah Atchia, VP Business Development, plus working sessions across the EDB and ongoing exchanges with the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation.
The Canada–Mauritius relationship is moving beyond statistics.

🇨🇦 CMTIV has wrapped up a productive week of meetings in Mauritius!

Our Founder and President, Padminee Chundunsing, and our VP of Business Development, Zaahirah Atchia, connected with exporters, business leaders and key stakeholders across trade, compliance and investment.

A highlight of the week was the SheTrades event hosted by the Economic Development Board of Mauritius, where Padminee delivered the keynote address to women-led exporters.

We were also pleased to meet Amaresh Ramlugun, Chairman of the Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, and Georgina Ragaven, a long-standing supporter of entrepreneurs and women in business.

🇲🇺 CMTIV termine une semaine riche en rencontres et en échanges à Maurice !

Notre fondatrice et présidente, Padminee Chundunsing, ainsi que notre vice-présidente au développement des affaires, Zaahirah Atchia, ont rencontré des exportateurs, des dirigeants et plusieurs acteurs clés du commerce, de la conformité et de l’investissement.

L’un des temps forts de la semaine a été l’événement SheTrades, organisé par l’Economic Development Board de Maurice, au cours duquel Padminee a prononcé le discours d’ouverture devant des entrepreneures et exportatrices.

More than C$150 billion in new investment is being mobilised across energy production, electricity transmission, critical minerals, ports and export corridors.

For Canada–Mauritius economic relations, this creates opportunities in project finance, professional services, supply chains and access to African and Indian Ocean markets.

Le Canada et le Manitoba investissent environ 1,3 million de dollars pour soutenir l’immigration francophone, la reconnaissance des compétences et les besoins du marché du travail.

Cette initiative met en lumière l’importance croissante des talents bilingues dans le développement économique régional, un sujet également pertinent pour les relations entre le Canada et Maurice.

🇨🇦🇲🇺 Francophone Talent and Workforce Development

Canada and Manitoba are investing approximately $1.3 million to support Francophone immigration, skills recognition and labour market needs.

This initiative highlights the growing importance of bilingual talent in regional economic development, a topic that is also relevant to Canada–Mauritius relations.
