🥁 Feel the beat!

One of the things that makes life at Providence Living Society at The Views unique is that residents decide their own routines and how they spend their days.

The recent drumming circle had residents tapping, drumming, and smiling along together. The room was filled with rhythm, laughter, and community spirit as everyone embraced the joy of making music as a group. 🎵✨

Open to residents, visitors, and the wider Comox community, the on-site café at Providence Living at The Views, The Views Bistro, is more than a place to grab a coffee. It helps create the feeling of a vibrant neighbourhood rather than an institution, fostering meaningful connections and helping residents stay connected to the community around them.

Thank you to the Scleroderma Association of B.C. for their incredible gift of $150,000 in support of scleroderma research at St. Paul's Hospital.

Funds raised through June's Moving to Cure Scleroderma events helped advance vital research and improve the quality of life for people living with this rare autoimmune disease.

To date, the Scleroderma Association of BC has contributed an extraordinary $1.3 million toward scleroderma research at St. Paul's Hospital. While there is currently no known cure, every dollar raised brings us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment and support. Together, we are creating hope for patients and families affected by scleroderma. 💙

Behind every page of Promise is a team dedicated to sharing stories that matter.

The 2026 edition of Promise offers a glimpse into the future of health care. As the new St. Paul’s Hospital on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus prepares to open early next year, this issue showcases the breakthroughs, innovation, and compassionate care transforming lives today—and how they will expand in the new hospital.

Featured on the cover, the new St. Paul’s Hospital connects every story inside. From the 3D heart tissue printer and digital pathology to kidney care, HIV/AIDS care, digestive health, healthy aging, and Providence Living, each feature explores how these programs are evolving and what the future of care will look like in a purpose-built environment designed to bring research, innovation, and patient care together.

Bringing this issue to life took months of collaboration between teams across St. Paul’s Foundation, Providence Health Care, Providence Living, Canada Wide Media, and our production partners Aman Tandon and David Tam. Together, we worked to ensure every story reflects the impact of donor support and the people at the heart of our mission.

Summer is in full swing, and so is progress at the new St. Paul's Hospital on the Jim Pattison Medical Campus.

This July, we've surpassed 12.8 million worker hours on site, with approximately 1,200 people contributing each day to bringing this transformative health care facility to life.

From ongoing medical equipment and systems installation to landscaping and courtyard improvements, work continues across every corner of the campus.

With each summer milestone, we're one step closer to welcoming patients, families, staff, and researchers to a new era of care in British Columbia.
